I don't get why anybody would pay money for AKAI VIP, I mean haven't a user already got a DAW. The Plus version comes with a 16GB lib, and thus costs $249

It consolidates your instrument library which can be useful depending on your workflow. The pricepoint is one that makes me wonder though. Why pay $99 for the software alone when it is included for free with midi keyboards that cost $99 as well?

+1 It is a good draw when buying a new MIDI keyboard, but to buy it as a plug using another brand MIDI keyboard I wouldn't do

It unlocks the mxxx modules/fx that are broadly similar to the individual plugins in the creative bundle - it's the path I took.

Anyone have any suggestions for the cheapest way to get Vintage Vault 2? I'm not working right now, because I'm studying for exams, so I am pretty broke. It looks really awesome though. I own some UVI products, but none that are eligible for an upgrade. I don't even know if I have the cash for the upgrade right now, even if I was eligible haha. So I'm really just trying to get an idea for a future purchase. Thanks a lot!

Edit: Maybe it's just best to wait till users start selling Vintage Vault 2

Digital Synsations was free at some point so there might be people here that sell it cheap because they have more than one copy. It qualifies for a 299 upgrade.

According to UVI only instruments priced 149 or more qualify for the upgrade. UltraMini is 99.
