Im reformatting my pc for Audio use and wanted to know how to go about these couple of steps:
1. How do i produce the "CTRL+ALT+DEL prompt once my pc boots? what do i have to do to get this to prompt each time?
2. Also is it worth me doing a Dual Boot, so that after the CTRL+ALT+DEL (i usually have the option of typing in a password for our normal internet/office PC) Could i put in another "boot" just for Audio here? ie: no net, Viruscan etc AND how easy is it to grab something from the "other" partition once im in a certain Partition (if you know what i mean)
Is this easy to set up on XP Pro?
Or would it be just easier having the one boot, and using that for audio as i believe XP is better than W98SE?

In XP, CTRL+ALT+DEL opens the Task Manager now.
-Dual Boot is fairly easy to set up in Windows XP, if you want two separate "Audio" and "Internet, etc." applications.
I have to admit, I'm on the net so much (getting samples and so forth) that I've decided to trade off a bit of CPU for convenience, and I only use one boot. When I'm not using the Net, I disconnect from the NET and turn off my Antivirus program's "resident guardian" mode (so that it's not active in the background eating up CPU), but that's about it.

The CNTL ALT DEL prompt you usually see on Win NT, Win 2k, Win 2k3. Win95/98/ME has a logon, and it was so painfully easy to skip over (IE it wasn't really 'security', just different desktop environs. You could lock it down if you wanted though).
Locking your machine down with XP is possible, but requires Local Security Settings to be modified to your liking, and users to be set up. Also, under User Accounts in Control panel, you can force people to do a Cntl Alt Del under Advance tab.
Depends on how 'hard core' you want to be. You can make it very restrictive if you wanted. Generally, XP was designed to get in and get on the computer, but at least it's a LOT better than its predecessors.
