Just wondering what soundcard AMD Athlon 64 users have in their systems. Compatibility is a big issue here, as I already have one soundcard that is now useless to me because of my setup.

I was thinking of getting an M-Audio Delta 44. Does anyone use that, or can confirm it's compatibility with Athlon 64 systems? Are there any other soundcards that you could recommend? I would like something with 4 analogue ins and 4 outs. What kind of latency are you experiencing?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm using an E-MU 1212M on an MSI K8N Neo FSR board. Works fine. :-)

I've got an EMU 0404, Digidesign MBOX and Digidesign 002 rack. No problems.

I have an AMD64 3000+ sticked on an Asus K8V Deluxe motherboard and a SB Audigy 2 ZS.

Running smooth :D
Music... life would be boring without it.

I have tried 3 including the m-audio
I liked the sound and price best on the audigy 2zs platinum pro
for $250 you cant beat it in my eyes but i also only use 2 out board synths but 8 virtual synths
Good luck

I use an M-Audio Firewire 1814. Works great in 32 bit or 64 bit windows.

I think the 1212M and 1820M Emu cards bllow everything below $700 out the water. Really good convertors, but buggy sofware.

I had a 1212M that I finally sold. It sounded great, and was a great deal for the money, but the drivers kept locking up my system and changing the sample rate was a pain. My patience eventually wore out. If they ever get the drivers sorted it will be a great deal though. My current interface cost three times as much but it's been trouble free.

I may not use all features of the card thouroughly, but I didn't had much trouble with the software yet.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. In terms of a card, I'm just looking for something pretty simple: Low latency and 4 analogue ins and outs. The lower end e-mu cards don't have exactly what I'm looking for, and the higher ones are quite considerably above my budget.

Anyways, Delta 44's can be had for very cheap nowadays, so I think that's exactly what I'll go for.

Again, thanks for the help.

I have a Chaintech Nvidia 150 MB with a M-Audio 1010 sound interface. Haven't had any real problems with windows media player, sonar 3.1, project 5, kinetic, soundforge 7, or Acid Pro 4. Make sure you don't put a soundcard in the slot next to the AGP slot - bad news for sound.

just for the record:
Im a happy owner of Delta 410 and cruising by their website the other day, a luxury seldom afforded these days without my own connection, I noted the release of BETA drivers for their whole range of soundcards for 64bit processors and OS(?).

Just bought an eMachines M6811 3400+. Built-in sound card works just fine for playback from Live 4.0. A Hammerfall Multiface was recommended to me. Specs look good. It comes next.
