Very cool video Andy, thanks!

The new video is great. I can't fault it. :tu: It's exactly what was needed. It's deep and clear with good examples. I learnt stuff. 8)

- The first plugin I see is Massive. So, where it makes sense you could give a short "abstract/summary" at the very beginning, quickly flying over the plugin UI to show what functional sections will be covered. Then you could turn to the comprehensive stuff
...
As suggested I added an overview section, and took the opportunity to do a new screen recording and song chunk to fit in with it, so now there is a big chunk of seeing the screen for The Drop in action with the song playing while I let everyone know what we'll cover. This makes everything flow much better. I also edited the ends of each of the other sections to cut them off earlier to make things punchier. Thanks for the feedback! I'm very happy with this end result, here is the updated video :)

I just watched the new video and from my memory (2 weeks ago) I liked the old one more. I get that this one is punchier and more concise but it seems some information has been cut out. Not sure...but are you going to transfer that to future videos?

Looking forward to a video just about LFO2. :tu:

I may be being very nitpicky but another thing I noticed this time is the lighting you have on the desk shot seems kind of over-lit. See the lighting reflections from the floor (top right) and on the desk (centre left)? I would setup lighting so that you did not have them. See the left side of your silver laptop? I think that's way too bright and reflective and takes the focus away from what you are doing.

Also that shot looks sort of yellowish to me. Like it is infused with the Cytomic colour. :hihi: A bit too much for my taste. :D

Thirdly the flat top-down point of view of your desk makes the laptop and Maschine look kind of 2-D and unrealistic. The only creatures that have that point of view are an insect or cat peering down from a hole in the ceiling...or an imaginary god. I would move the camera back slightly to a more sitting position. I think that would give a more real feel to it...but I would experiment. :tu:

I've only watched the old version so far, but it was really useful.
Really well done tutorial; more please! :tu: About every aspect of using your plugs in real world situations.
I personally would like some about key tracking and emulating juicy Moog sounds.
Thank you.

No information is missing, the rest of the voiceover is identical. I cut short the end sections where I was just messing around with the knobs since I do that right at the start while the new intro section is happening :)

LFO2 is a beast, I look forward to covering that as well!

The lighting actually looks like that, I bought two tungten lamps to uplight the room. I'm not too worried about the camera footage, it's just to break up the screenshots and it not essential for understanding. If anything I would spend money on the camera rather than the lighting, since it's really the camera that needs more dynamic range to handle seeing the computer screen, the room, and the screen on the maschine all at once - it's not an easy task.

I'll have a play with the camera angle, I put the camera overhead so I wouldn't bang into it or you see a big closeup of hair while I played. It may be better coming in over one of my shoulders and I'll just have to be careful not to knock myself out if I get too lost tweaking knobs!

I'll definitely cover one on using The Drop as a synth backend with keytracking :)

Hi Andy, a bit OT, but do you have any plans to make a high quality wah pedal plugin? Would be great to have all the usual suspects (VOX, Crybaby, Morley) available in one plugin.

Hi Andy,

If they all have a similar enough circuit layout that I can add a few "dummy" components and set them to values which don't do anything but change them as needed to cover each of the devices then this is definitely a possibility :) I have read some good papers on approaches to modelling non-linear inductors, and now I've got the basics done with non-linear capacitors for The Scream I'm ready to tackle it. This will be down the track a bit since I've still got to finish The Scream, then update The Glue, and then do a couple more distortion stomps.

That's great to hear Andy! Looking forward to seeing what stomps you release, and wah pedals (with auto-wah env follower too please) will be fun when they arrive :tu:
