No fuss here, just slight disappointment. If you like Axon for its sound, perfect. I prefer the MIDI part, so for me this update was a waste of money. But you're right, v1 is still there and 10 bucks is a pizza & coke ;)

Even better, I just stumbled across ToneCarver Nova3 generative sequencer (freeware), and whoohoo, that thing really makes me smile. (working download link here)

Forgetting Axon already :D

Still a questionable decision of theirs to remove midi out pitch flexibility. Intentionally cutting existing features for no reason is a nasty move, methinks.
Cutting for no reason or triviality is indeed a questionable move. However, I read about an update near that may balance your situation. If I read it correctly, I believe it will also allow you to connect 2 or more together, causing enormous rhythmic energy. AD, has always delivered. Once I saw how well they treated their customers (EOS 1), they had my loyalty, and I'm very very picky about that.
SLH - Yes, I am a woman, deal with it.

Sounds promising, thanks for the info! :)

I wonder if the installer needs Axon 1 preinstalled, especially in future when I need to install a new computer in a couple years and v1 cannot be installed on that new OS. What's going to happen?

There was a max for live device released (i think) this year that did this exact same thing but with big bright colourful lights....Anyone know what it was called ? (It wasn't one of the Arcade Series devices by Isotonik but it was a commercial m4l device)

IIRC it was a 6x6 grid, and you'd place arrows and teleports and things on the grid and when the lights traveled down the path it'd hit those arrows etc. to generate midi data

EDIT: Went through every sequencer listed on MaxforLive.com site and I found it :) The Zooo's New Path -

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Maybe they'll just check to see if you have the v1 vst file in the correct directory? That way you can trick the v2 installer by simply placing the file there?

BufoBufo wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2017 6:08 am To be honest, I am quite underwhelmed by this update.. I mean, they cut functionality from Axon 1. Output MIDI notes are now unaffected by the Pitch knob. Why would you cut that?! .....................
From the last Axon 2 update's changelog:-

Latest Axon 2 update:-
V2.1.1
>>> The MIDI output has been re-written to suck less. The main thing you'll notice is that the output notes follow the pitch for the attendent neuron. So if, say, Neuron 02 is set to a pitch of C3, the MIDI note that neuron outputs will be 36 (C3).

So Audio Damage have responded to the situation as outlined by BufoBufo's post. But have now made it potentially impossible or very difficult for users, like myself, who want the plugin to output MIDI notes that are unaffected by the neuron's actual Pitch knob. Why not simply update the plugin with both options?

Anyone got any opinions on this? It seems so obvious to me that this is an issue and yet I cannot find any other posts on this.

Version 2.1.1 also introduced multiple outs which I always want to use so do not want to use an earlier version.

How do you make this thing (or any AD plugin for that matter) remember the GUI size? Every time I load up the plugin I have to resize again as it defaults to it's factory default size (using AudioUnit in Logic Pro).

No one? Does everyone hate Audio Damage?

User set defauly GUI size is not a supported feature. So many plugins do this. I dont know why they dont remember the previous set size, its really annoying to have to expand on every instance.

I liked the first version better, though it never really worked right.

Super annoying! Over week ago I also wrote support asking why they don’t offer a demo for Replicant 2 but they do for all their other plugins. No response yet.
