Been looking at these two different live performance VST effect/instrument hosts. They seem fairly similar in their features, the main difference being their UIs. Are there any major differences between them? Has anyone used both and have a preference?

As one of the developers of Gig Performer, might I suggest that you visit our user forums (http://gigperformer.com/forums) where other customers who have switched to Gig Performer might be better able to answer any questions.
There was a review of Gig Performer in Keyboard Magazine in Feb/March issue (sadly their last print issue, https://www.keyboardmag.com/gear/review ... -performer) that might also answer some of your questions and of course there have been many updates since then based on feedback from our users.
