I have most/all of my receipt emails from music software purchases, but I'm not sure why at this point. I record in a separate file (and backed up appropriately) the serials, transaction IDs, and any license files.

Am I missing a reason to keep them, especially ones where the transactions are older...?

I have an email folder dedicated just for that ;)

I do. But, most importantly, i keep the mails with the activation keys, or serials. All my email accounts work with IMAP, so, all the stuff remains on the servers, and i save all the emails to a "Important" mail folder, so that it's all available on any computer i use, and, no matter whether i reset the computer, or reinstall the operating system.

I keep email traces of all software purchases. It has helped on several occasions... when a company changes hands (submerisible - Drumcore) or when they introduce a new website (acoustica audio) they can lose track of your licences or righfully request evidence of ownership before giving you access to updates or special pricing. The companies came through but the email traces certainly helped both parties.

Not to mention just keeping serials and passcodes available and searchable in email when you are doing a computer rebuild is handy.
