planning on protecting these 70 dollar expansions moving forward? o
all XPs starting with the Granular XP are keyfile protected and therefore not cracked
did I mention the crack runs very unstable and wont work with future updates? ;)
The logic comes in to play when you invest in yourself and the developer. No one on this forum wants to see a 200 dollar piece of software they paid for given away or stolen. That's completely illogical

If none of this mattered then this may as well be freeware at no cost. just my 2 cents

Thanks for the security on the expansions moving forward. I will still support your product and just purchased the new expansion as always. Peace
"Given away" or "stolen"? Who takes it away, or steals it from you? This doesn't make sense at all.

This really more and more looks like advertising warez.

Missing the point guys. Nobody is talking about stealing anyone's individual license or software. This is simply about, If I can work and purchase a license for vengeance software, (which they require), then everyone else should be willing to do the same.

I understand the world we live in doesn't always work that way and you have people or groups who crack software for whatever reason. Whether it be because they don't believe in the the prices, corporations. etc behind them is irrelevant.

If Vengeance is cool with whatever hacked software that is out there, i'm cool with it. So the options are either to wait for the crack and save your money, or purchase a license like I have and keep it moving.

Well, you answered yourself there. Don't care about things you shouldn't care about. Move on. The only ones who should care about this are Vengeance-Sound. And if we all make less of a fuss about this, the less people will take notice, or advantage of it. Act for yourself, stay fair, anything else is out of your control anyway.

First of all, NOBODY is "cool" with hacked software except those that use it. It is not about being insensitive to what is happening. Vengeance did what they could to prevent the hacking. But they also know that for every skilled creator there is a skilled hacker.

When I discover that something I own/bought/paid for is hacked, its value increases quickly in my eyes because I am a true supporter of music and developers. I am not some lowlife criminal cheapskate coward who uses a broken, virus-ridden hack to cheat people out of money, time, and energy, for a quick joyride that they will never appreciate because they didn't have to put their hard earned, blood-sweat-and-tears money toward it. Theft is theft and criminals should get what they deserve. They are the bane of music, and should be treated as such.

MY ONLY WISH...is that developers would actually embrace the idea that most nothing can slow criminals from doing their thing, so stop passing the cost of piracy protection on to paying customers. Still, they must do what they think is best. And I will continue to respect that.

As the car comparison is always a valid one: Noone would build a safe like door into his car also, or build the car like a tank so noone can break in. The cars are locked, making it difficult, not impossible to break in. And, it of course would be easier, if you could just jump into the car, without any door, yet noone would do that. And the same holds true for copy protections, i think.

Frankly, i wouldn't care at all if the software i just purchased for 150 € has been cracked or not. The whole thinking is quite twisted. I don't choose my car by consideration like how many times it gets stolen either. IF then i would be a bit concerned about the lack of safety measures. But, that doesn't seem to be the point here. The point seems to be "why am i so stupid to pay 200 € for it, when i, or others can have it for free", and that's quite twisted, and not comprehensible at all for me. The people getting it for free steal it, and i won't steal, because i'm not a thief. Not because of some insincere sense of ethics, but, because someone worked his ass off for it, and deserves to make a living of what he does. Just like i would in his place.

This is all I was trying to say earlier; you just said it in a different way and more harshly. No one is saying lets get the tiki torches and hatchets and go after the hacks. I know it's only software, but people do spend real money on this stuff.

Nobody is expecting outrage, but i do expect the developers to talk to us like the one guy from vengeance did address the issue. So moving forward and i support them.

Twisted?
Well thats the last time I ever purchase a sound library from you.
There's no way you ever get a dime from me from now on.

What is twisted is seeing the brand new Avenger expansions now being traded on various audio sites.
I can't wait to see how it affects you, and when it does don't come whining here !!!!!

I don't want any thread to get locked even though these are valid issues and points. I only peruse this forum from time to time. The developer spoke on the issue. I'm fine with his response.

I've gotten used to piracy yet I'm spending a lot of money to have my sound libraries removed from torrent sites.

Good for you Manuel. May all those who use the cracked version be infected by Russian crypto-ransom-spy-destructoware.

what concerns me the most is they expected it to be cracked way faster. what i expect from a developer is doing at least his best to keep that time much longer / as long as possible. that is imo some appreciation for the loyal and legal customership. so i can agree to a certain point as it is decreasing the felt value of the product since it is not exclusive to the paid users anymore. but tbh it was crystal clear that the new copy protection was more or less another advertising scheme. a cracked plugin will appear on many more websites.

i recently demoed this synth again and it had a cpu consumption of 20-30% when doing nothing. not a single note played. and once again after some time the screen stayed black. in the end i still won't buy or use this plugin in this state. would be nice fixing the bugs first before coding some mini games (nothing new, good idea for the 8bit xp, but imo bad timing).

Post

Simply put: The product and expansions are definitely worth the price. I want to support this development with my money. Who cares what else is happening. I really can't understand the compliant, Vengeance have just kept on giving. Very happy with this one!

every copy protection can be hacked, even the most secure elicenser was several times. Stating the opposite, or saying "our system is uncrackable" would be stupid. Regarding possible bugs: no worries, all known bugs get adressed quickly. Mini Game coding was outsourced and did not steal any time for this, but thanks for caring how we spend our free time :)
1. Tested: Convert shape (purposely to see what happens).
How do you delete it??
just delete it in windows / osc in the containing folder?
2. Tested: Convert resampler file, it worked but made a folder with the sample name in the factory folders?? This is going to be a real mess with many files?
the resampler is our wavetable importer. Its all explained in the manual and the videos how it works.
You reworked the browser to a better solution but we have no control over the folder structure of user libraries in the different modules?
just go to the folder in win / osx, you can move, delete or do whatever you want with the files
