I got a free version on a CM magazine, but the product web site is the most minimalist I've ever seen. One tiny word on a big black background:

Is this the end for Muzys?

They started with MbooM a few years ago and stopped development of that to create Musys so maybe its just another transition phase.

Speaking of Muzys, whatever happened to Caleb Blake? Wasn't he the Muzys version of Bones, a die hard evangelist? I believe he even wrote some tutorials and was working closely with Jo the developer. Just wondered what ever became of Caleb,he was one of the most prolific members of KVR for a while. :?

I wonder if Computer Music will be able, or even want to continue to use Muzy as their free sequencer if the product is officially dead.

It seemed like a decent sequencer, but there are already so many decent sequencers out there. I'm not suprised that it was unable to compete.

That is weird. I though he might have re-registered under a different name. Very mysterious all this. The website closed down, Jo being very elusive and Caleb's disappearance. Hmmm sounds like the work of Aliens if you ask me. :D

CMuzys works just fine for what they need it do ie. run the CM plugs and provide a good way for beginners to get started without spending a lot of money.

CM seem to also be pushing Tracktion a lot lately. Maybe that'll be their angle in the future? A cut-down version of Tracktion or competitive upgrade price (like they did with Massiva once)...

Just ideas, and probably not very good ones either :D

btw, I was also wondering about Caleb last week :o Seems to me that so many people that used to be huge contributors have disappeared over the last year or so. Maybe they've all gone to live with crimsonwarlock in some secret paradise of ex-KvRers

A light version of Traktion would be great. I hope the folks at CM are reading this.

I asked over at the CM Forum about 6 months ago and they said it wouldn't happen. But lo and behold they start carrying these special versions of trackion in each issue now. So who knows??

One thing I do know is they are working on "something" to get a OSX sequencer for their readers. We'll all just have to wait.. .they stay pretty quiet about these things.
