Thanks guys. :D I didn't really know where I was going with the song to begin with? I had the 'intro thing' kicking around for a long time, and I guess had it loaded while I tried out Kriminals great new Fat Kit. Then it just got kinda funky from there - but not TOO funky I guess? Just different. ;) I'm sure we all have those songs that just 'happen' when you least expect them to - and this was definately one for me. :o

George Clinton, Bootsy, and WAR have got nothing to fear... Or do they? The funk company are maybe just a bit better than country when it comes to inviting new blood into the family I find. I'll slip you some sugar if you lay me some skin brothers.

ok listened now

Thanks a bunch ET! :D I think I might go back and remix it as well. Just discovered Krim's got his Fat Kit for the SR-202 as well. So I'd rather have the drums with that 'Boards Of Canada' feel than the Vocoder Kit. It all started off as some slow depressing Kraftwerk tune (if there is such a thing? ), and just felt the Fat Kit wanting a tight funk rythem on it, and voila! I much prefer the SR-202 kit to 'isolate' and work with individual drum pieces then the Orion Drum Rack for some reason?
So back to 'the lab' for some experimentation of kits and mixes yet again. ;)

As for vocals, it would be sweet to get a real Issac Hayes kinda 'Shaft' voice in there wouldn't it? And some real bad ass lyrics talkin 'bout that mother fuc... Shut your mouth! I'm just talkin' bout Supa Fly is all?

Had a listen. Not very funky. Sounds like warmed over Cameo on a bad day. Where's the oomph?

Okay, so I remixed it last night and this morning. Thanks to Krim and his SR-202 versions and Orions fairly easy flexibility to transfer patterns, I believe the drums are sounding more 'proper' (as Hammer would say. ;) ) Vocoder Kit's further down, voices are a little more up (maybe too much?), and the L1 Ultramax was only applied 'just a bit' this time... But still kicks the crap out of the highs at the end? :?

The 'oomph' comes near the end in a nice multi-layered groove. Word up! :P (But yes, it does have that 80's Cameo type o' vibe I admit)
