a) is there a limit in how many mod sources I can use
b) Are there random LFO shapes? Can they be optionally be"dampened" (i.e. a smooth transition between values?)
Thx
a.) there is, but its that high, that you will never be able to encounter it :)
b.) yes of couse... 2 random shapes. Random steppy and random smoothed. Just select them in the shape selector?

I route a mod envelope to FM, and i want to control the amount of the envelope with velocity.
This would be a rather basic feature, but i can't find a way to do this.
of course there is... just drag and drop for example a LFO directly onto the mod matrix entry row of the desired source, for example a mod envelope controlling the FM Amount

No, i think you misunderstand me.
To take your example.
I route an LFO to FM, and i can set a static value.
But what i want is to control the amount of the LFO to FM with key velocity

Kabelix wrote:Hey there. First of all: I really like Avenger. Besides the (all over) positive aspects, and before writing a report to Rene, i would like to ask a question to the communitiy here, about the (well discussed) performance issues, regarding GPU vs CPU usage.

In my case, I can load up to 20 instances of avenger. The CPU usage looks okay (well, of course depending on what kind of presets i load). The GPU *PROCESSING* usage as well.

My Problem is: The GPU *MEMORY*.

Yes, my system specs are really individual, and my GPU is lightly outdated. But: Is there anybody out there, who could confirm this?

When opening a (previously saved) cubase project i.e., with all Avenger GUIs closed, there is absolutely no Problem. But when opening the GUis, one after another, and even when closing them right after...

I will get a GPU Memory overload...

It simply looks like, the GPU Memory is not unloaded after closing the GUI.

This is a first Screenshot, with only 2 Instances opened:

Just a question - what app is that pictured? Is that an OSX feature or a 3rd party app?
It is called iStatMenus, not very expensive, but really nice to have: https://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/ (https://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/)

BTT: Unfortunately it seems, I am the only one having this high GPU Memory hunger with Avenger. Well, I can live with it. But I am really surprised, never had any problem like this with an audio plugin....

no I dont. You did not understand me.
I explained exactly that you are asking for
(drag and drop key velocity to the mod matrix entry of the LFO)

There are skins and will be more I guess - but it's a lot of work. By now there is no option to change the GUI, not sure if they are working on hideable parts...
Thx Warehouseparty,
I'm working on other skins also:

why dont you try what I wrote
Drag and Drop a LFO just ONTO an existing Mod envelope entry in the Mod Matrix

and yes, there is a video (before it was possible to drag and drop)

You should leave your home computer on and use TeamViewer to connect to it from work ;)

Back in the studio now. OH, Manuel was faster, thanks!
Since I said that I would help, here the description to exactly your problem though:

- Drag Mod Env 1 to FM (don't change the value)
- Drag Velocity to the new created entry in the Mod Matrix (MOD Envelope 1)
- Change the value (Midi Velocity) in the Mod Matrix to 100

The result is better to hear if you take out the velocity for AMP and FILTER
