Aww, man...

So sad.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Oh no - saw him in concert just once but he was amazing live

Just been reading about this. Another Travelling Wilbury gone :( :(

Post

His music was great.
3/5 of Traveling Wilburys are now playing upstairs.

Wow. Bit of a shock that. Another star wearing a wooden overcoat.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Aw f**k. f**k. No way.

No one could tell an entire story with a few deceptively simple lines like Tom Petty.

You'll be sorely missed, Tom. Thanks for all the great songs and performances, for the incomparable dry humor, heart and grace that you poured into everything you did.

Saw him with The Heartbreakers many, many years ago at Birmingham Odeon, they were supporting Nils Lofgren to break into the UK market (it was called the Heart Attack tour!).
So many fabulous tracks that he has released with the Heartbreakers, Wilburys & solo, I absolutely love "It's Good to be King".

Thanks for the music Tom, rest easy.

That's bloody awful! I loved that guy. Amazing music.

Apparently 'clinging to life' despite reports. CBS News originally reported that police had confirmed the singer’s death but the Los Angeles Police Department later said details had “inadvertently” been given out and the force had “no information”.

He had a problem with heroin in the 90's. I hope to fk it wasn't dope that killed him. 66 is too young.

TBH growing up I was never a fan of his style and his music (and that voice!)... but as I got older, and as my taste in music matured and expanded, I started to appreciate what a fantastic writer he was, and how a simple rock tune from the right mind and in the right hands can strike such a meaningful chord in people.

You got lucky, babe.
You got lucky, babe.
When I found you.

Fantastic!

Also never a fan of Stevie Nicks (that vibrato!), but as a fan of pop and rock music over the years, Stop Draggin' My Heart Around might be one of THE BEST songs written and produced in that era, IMO. Great writing, performance, production, memorable hook, harmonies... just fantastic.
You need to limit that rez, bro.
