Neutron 3 Standard

I am pretty happy with Ozone 7 Advanced, but never clicked with Neutron Advanced when compared to Alloy 2. I own both of the aforementioned products via the Music Production Bundle 2, which is now called the Music Production Suite with the release of Ozone 8 and Neutron 2.

If I upgrade both products, it will be from the Music Production Bundle 2 to the newly packaged Music Production Suite, due to the fact that I can also obtain RX 6 Standard as well. That said, at this time, I do not feel compelled to upgrade anytime soon at all.

As with the product change from Alloy 2 to Neutron, the Ozone enhancements in version 8 are not important to me.

Just on the off-chance iZotope read this thread. The Music Production Suite upgrade is worth $149 to me tops. That's what I paid for MPB1 & 2, and I'm not paying any more for point updates to Ozone/Neutron & 1 new product (RX6 std).

Just throwing that out there 8)

Particularly when some products such as Insight have not been touched for ages

Maybe they are trying to compete with Propellerhead to see who can come up with the most laughable update.

edit: oh yay, my upgrade is free. Propellerhead wins this round.

I am fairly confident that you'll be able to obtain the stated price or less during a future iZotope sale.

I also would not upgrade from MPB2 to MPS for the normal price of $499 nor the present sale price of $299.

RX6 is also pretty specialist, I have no use for it which makes it a valueless bundled item to me.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

No one interested in Neutron 2?

Gate is a welcome addition.
I'm not sure about Visual mixer, apart from perhaps being able to speed up the mixing process a bit. I'm curious about Total Tonal control, although it could perhaps do more damage than good. Will check demo though.

The first thing a top rated professional engineer will tell you about getting great at mixing and mastering is?
Practice developing your EARS.

The visual meters and graphics are some what helpful and nice to look at, but in the end they also persuade and determine your mix decisions based on the wrong senses. The way something looks and sounds are completely different and never identical.

The subtle harmonics, pitches, distortion and other minute details that go into listening are harder to convey on a graphic display. Just because it looks good or bad doesn't mean it sounds that way.

Mixing audio visually is basically the same thing as being blind and painting a portrait.

Probably why all the masters and legends don't use it, but musicians do.

I wrote them a mail that their upgrade prices are laughable.
Maybe we all should do and let them know.
for me, will skip this one definitely (ozone7adv user)

To be fair I don' see any interesting update other than the visual stereo imager, at least not at the upgrading prices listed.
