Hey.. Recently picked up metaplugin and have a few thoughts/questions.
When using the metasynth in Cubase, is there anyway to only load a stereo instance? Right now I can only load a surround instance and that changes the whole Cubase mixer to be in surround mode. I haven't been able to find a solution yet, if anyone knows that would be great. Typically, Kontakt (for example) allows you to adjust the amount of channels by Metasynth doesn't seem to have that option.

Just tried the demo with 4 instances of Nebula / 4 bands of a 1073 EQ.
Oversampled the chain sounds *completely* different from the original sampling rate. Any insights why this happens?
EDIT: Also *very* strange: each click on the "Set PDC" button adds 8676 samples to the number shown. Listening to an unprocessed version of the track reveals that PDC is not correct at all.

Just bought Metaplugin v3. Now I can use even 32-bit VST plug-ins in Logic Pro X, like the PitchTech plug-ins (high quality noise/tonal separation) and my old favorite synth, Cameleon CA5000! Very happy for this!
All can be saved and recalled at once either within Metaplugin or via the ordinary presets of Logic. I can confirm that it's working well (Mac OS X, still on El Capitan so far).
However, there are some problems in using the original graphical interface of some of the plug-ins loaded into Metaplugin (not all). In many cases (even with complex interfaces, as in Cameleon) all is working perfectly, but in some other cases (as with the PitchTech plug-ins) the original interface does not appear, or it appears but is unresponsive (with the Spectral Machine, for example). In these cases the plug-ins can still be used rather well via the Metaplugin function "Show all parameters" or through automation, but I wanted to report the problem and I hope that the developer will work to solve it.
(P.S.: if it is of some interest to anyone, I could even provide a list of some plug-ins, telling for each one if the interface is working or not.)

Plug-ins list sent! By the way, I see now that the Spectral Machine (a 32-bit Mac VST) is working properly after the last Metaplugin update and its GUI is behaving correctly.

I tried the demo of V.3 this weekend and encountered the same issue in Cubase 9. I've emailed support but haven't heard anything back. I'm not sure why it doesn't work the same way as other multi output instruments do such as Falcon and Kontakt.sampliist wrote:Hey.. Recently picked up metaplugin and have a few thoughts/questions.

This is adeal breaker for me as you can't easily route stuff to separate channels for additional processing or send stuff out to other effects channels you may have running in your project.

I've gotten a reply and they said they are working on a fix for the metasynth to act as stereo plugin. Not sure how if they are working on supporting more multi out channels, though.RobGee wrote:I tried the demo of V.3 this weekend and encountered the same issue in Cubase 9. Probably - because one of the plugins is doing calculations which rely on hardcoded values related to an expected sample rate instead of actually checking what the sample rate actually is?beingmf wrote:Just tried the demo with 4 instances of Nebula / 4 bands of a 1073 EQ.

Try it in a host that supports the metaplugin 'oversampled' rate as the actual project rate (ie 192Khz or whatever), you should get the same results.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Is there any support for routing automation to specific parameters of the loaded plugins? This is something which the free IL Minihost Modular does, and it's very handy because it allows you to automate several different plugin parameters at once with just one envelope. However, IL Minihost has been left in beta for several years and has a few bugs which have yet to be worked out.
Another thing that would be handy is some kind of module that you could add to "alter" the automation within Metaplugin... for example: making one parameter decrease while another parameter increases. Just a suggestion.

On the upper menu three controls are located on the left from the bpm multiplier and oversampling. There you can select on the most left the number of the parameter. In the next you select the filter/plugin and on the third the parameter you want to automate. From your daw you can automate the numbered parameters. Sadly only 1:1 connections are possible but 100 if you want.
