Looking to get a basic choir library, don't need anything fancy like phrase building, just a quality sound that doesn't sound cheesy. The Kontakt Factory library isn't awful, but it isn't great either..
It seems like Olympus Elements is considered decent for the price (I'm not looking to spend a lot here).. if you've used both, is it considerably better than the Kontakt Factory stuff? It sounds good in the demos I've listened to but sometimes it's hard to know what you're really getting until you use it yourself. Just looking for opinions here.

Thanks for the summary, that's about the impression I'm getting. I don't really need words so that part is fine. The different articulations does sound appealing, as Kontakt has none of that. Likewise with the legato and slight vibrato. Kontakt just sounds kinda lifeless to me and ultimately still like samples. There's a weird quality to many of the notes that sounds too artificial. I'll probably end up buying Elements shortly here.Vortifex wrote:I own both. If you just want nice 'Aaaahh' vocal pads then the Kontakt library isn't actually all that bad, but Olympus Elements is just all-round better at everything and has more content. The sound is much better quality and the sustains have a small amount of vibrato in them which makes it sound more natural. The sustains have a 'Pad' setting, allowing you to have slow attack and release for those lush pads. It has true legato. It has staccato and marcato sections, choral fx patches with shouts, risers, whispers etc. And being Soundiron it has a handful of weird sound design patches thrown in too.
It is limited to 8 vowels, so you won't be making any faux Latin chants with the word builder. However, off the top of my head there is no other choir library anywhere near this price range that offers as good a sound as Olympus Elements.
Already got it, thanksMaybe this?
