what kind of dark, twisted thinking leads to a workstation instrument without macros?
Yeah, but at least Omni has a stable set of controls that can be mapped. Don't know where to start with Falcon.

Post

You can map as many controls to as many macros as you want.

The problem aMUSEd is talking about is having a default macro slot to CC system that would allow a minimum startup set. Right now, you have to do it patch by patch.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Post

yeah that wasn't clear, I edited.

Kore users like me and amused use high-resolution knobs instead of standard CC. if you can't assign the macro section to a controller via automation (in a way that remains fixed throughout the library) it's kinda useless to us.

this part you can do
(in a way that remains fixed throughout the library)
This part you would have to do yourself based on the patches you want to use for a set.

So it isn't useless IMO, it just means you have to do some work once you find the patches you want to use. Again, it's the price we pay for a very, very flexible architecture.

The one ask would be a mapper system similar to Halion .. heck it may be hidden in there somewhere and I just don't know it. But, we still would need the authors to do the "default" map like they did for NKS.

However, I still think it's worth it to just map your own controller to the patch macros you want to use. The thing is, the macros aren't necessarily the same from patch to patch like they are on a synth. So, the idea of a "default" controller map is not viable.

Thanks for taking the time. Weirdness regarding the different versions of the email. I own Falcon, Relayer and a couple sound libraries, myself. Wonder what the criteria is for the 50% discount.

I guess I don’t need the temptation anyway. UVI can wait on my cash for some (possible) other time.
Tangled roots perplex her ways.

Exactly, when starting a patch from scratch, there are no Macros assigned at all and their assignments will differ from patch to patch (or Macros won't be available at all, depending on the sound designer). Right clicking on a Macro let's the user assign it to automation IDs, these assignments are not stored within a patch but within the session in the user's DAW.

On the Bargain Gossip thread, I read:
zadillo wrote:The UVI Falcon 30% off sale is really quite excellent, it seems. For $244 you get Falcon, plus 2 free expansions - and I confirmed with support that you still get the $100 voucher on top of that.
This seems to be contradicted by the sales Terms and Conditions:

"This promotion is exclusive and will not stack with any other sales / vouchers available at uvi.net"

Can someone confirm the $100 voucher is still part of this sale?

Thanks!

I just bought Falcon and I paid $244. For that I got Falcon and a $100 voucher for buying extensions or sound libraries.

Can the $100 voucher be used towards anything, even effects like thorus or other falcon expansions?
Edit: Ah its for sound libraries.

I didn't use the voucher yet but here is what it says in the mail from UVI,

Thanks for purchasing Falcon!

As a special 'Thank you!' we're giving you a $100 / 100€ voucher good towards any sound library at uvi.net.
With over 40 libraries available ranging from pristine acoustic instruments to rare vintage synths you’ll be sure to find a sonic ally that compliments your needs.

I just watched a video where someone was adding fx at the voice level and I noticed that delays are disabled. This is really too bad as I could see some cool modulation of delays per voice. And it's not too cpu intensive of an effect, so I think that's a bummer. Per voice effects is really cool in falcon but why disallow delay?

Post

Also - can the MPE script still not be used at the same time as other scripts? So you couldn’t use it with any of the sound libraries that have custom scripted GUIs for example? Or has that changed?

Did you make sure to add the two Falcon expansions to your cart so you got them for free?

I was also looking for that but there were no option to add any expansions and no information what expansions that should be included for free, etc. After your post I checked again and there is nothing. So the big mystery here is what 2 expansions would I get for free and how to add them upon purchase?

Edit: I contacted UVI and described the whole thing. Let's see what they say. Cost for expansions and libraries vary quite much and I don't believe UVI would just give away the most expensive ones for free :D ..and no info what expansions to choose from. Made me believe that there was no choice and that those 2 free ones would be added automatically during purchase

Is that possible somehow to record the MIDI notes from Falcon script processors into the DAW to MIDI tracks?
