Still quite pricey but worth noting that you get quite a discount buying it through JRRShop (In my instance the upgrade path drops from $299 to $254)

Yeah, I still use Alloy 2. No need to upgrade.

Not happy!!! I'd love to see a poll on this, how many it's upset. Does this mean we'll see the same again next year? Last thing i want is to have multiple versions of Ozone and Neutron installed.

I love upgrades like the Cubase model, every year, excited for what's new but it's affordable. For me the suit should be £100 update/crossgrade. It's too soon and too little for £230 with loyalty discount.

We can't even sell off old bundles as they change what's included so we'd lose something, like Alloy 2, MP1 and what seems to be the loss of insight MP2, clever move!!!

Don't like the new graphics either. Wasn't a huge fan of the old ones but i was getting used to it.

For those interested, there is a Splice "rent-to-own" offer.
But, be careful, it's for the standard version.

I'm not at all upset about the pricing. I'm rather delighted - figured the new features are un-essential, and combined with the price this means I can skip this whole update and save a whole other unique round of plugins. Can't see the point of contacting iZotope - if people vote with their wallets it will be a message far louder than a bunch of whiners.

I can only echo much of what has already been said, iZoptope make excellent products which I've used for over a decade, but asking for another $300 to upgrade the Music Production Bundle that most people only bought in the last year (in my case just weeks ago) is just too much, and this $300 is the 'loyalty' price! And if you can't come up with the money right now, and you wait for any longer than 3 or 4 weeks, then the 'loyal' people who have supported iZoptope for years are being asked for $500!

$500 . . . . for . . . . an . . . Upgrade !

Insane :?

The point is, to let them know _why_ the wallet stays closed.
Voting with the wallet AND letting them know why, should have the best effect (at least better than letting marketing guys riddle about why wallets stayed close)

Complete rewrite? How much would that cost them?

(UI code is not something existing separately from DSP code. They are tied. And resizable UIs are a different country altogether.)
Are you saying that in this specific case iZotope tied them together? Because as a rule you should keep these two things as separate as possible. It’s a terrible idea to mix them. I’d like to give iZotope more credit than that.

Was thinking the same thing, you definitely want them as separate classes or ... well as you say it'd be absurd to whack everything together !

Hmm, the update for me as a current Neutron 1 owner is $99, which is exactly the same amout I payed for N1 (as an upgrade from Alloy2, which was a good price imo). They could as well market this as a completely new product.
Also, I am bit skeptical that those new "visual" mixing tools really work well, as that "revolutionary" TrackAssistant in N1 turned out to be only semi-helpful at best.
Guess I'll join the non-upgrader's club :)

Looks like Izotopes business decisions are biting them in the ass. Either they didnt do any market research, the research was flawed or they ignored it. Not only are they not going to realize a loss of revenue but there is also a potential comprimise of customer opinion of the company. Good job capitalists! :ud:

As someone who bought Neutron 1 along with Nectar Elements and then Nectar 2 Suite, I got a good deal on Neutron Elements and Ozone Elements. As a hobbyist, after a year of using Neutron 1 I'm getting good results with the latter two plus my other plugins, and Neutron Elements seems to use noticeably less CPU on my system.

Neutron 1 was a good learning tool, and while version 2 adds some interesting new methods of processing, they don't particularly add to my learning experience. So I'm finding it hard to think of a good reason to upgrade, whatever the price.

I agree that a lack of sales will be all the "feedback" they could possibly ask for.

I also like your way of thinking regarding the upgrade. For now I figure I got the MPB2 crossgrade for the few products I do use in the bundle for a good price, and I don't have to care about upgrades for at least another year (maybe 2).
