Trying to follow Simon's video demo on loading .sfz files (using the same files actually), but I keep getting missing-samples errors…which I can fix by pointing Falcon at the folder, but that's not remembered; have to resave the entire sample set to reload. I moved them to the same disk that Falcon's on, added the folder in Prefs, no better. F1.4, OSX 10.12.6

Ideas?
TIA!

Can someone tell me if you can apply a loop region with fade in/out using the stretch oscillator, like you can with the normal sample osc?

No, crossfade looping is only available in the normal sampling oscillator, not in any of the granular oscs (timestretching = granular synthesis). HALion is the only instrument I know of which can apply crossfade looping even in granular synthesis mode.

Thanks. I can understand why there wouldn't be looping in granular mode or scrub. But stretch mode would be useful for playing melodic sounds where you want to repitch without changing the speed. Yet doing this means that you can not hold the sustain past the length of the sample, so you basically have an advanced mellotron (ie, you can only hold the sound as long as the sample duration). I find this very weird. Wouldn't it be common to want to sustain a sound that has been stretched?

Granular, scrub, stretch, it's all based on the same principle of granular synthesis and the UVI devs obviously haven't found a method yet to implement crossfade looping in their granular algorithms. Stretch mode allows for normal looping though, just right click into the sample and create a loop, then set loop start/end.

why are many installers still so bad nowadays? like this one, wants to install pace after installing falcon, make it optional, i dont want to always be aware and hit cancel... geeeez, sorry but i can always freak out about well known companies and their shitty installers!

on to testing finally falcon's workflow out with granular and comparing to avenger!

3 days left to get Simon's xps for sale!

BIG Suggestion:

1 left click = type number
2 left clicks = reset to default...

You're underestimating the people that think 'Install Pace ? No ... I'm installing Falcon, what's Pace ?!!!' and then can't work out why it doesn't work. If you have Pace installed the installer just loads and goes 'Ah you've got it already never mind' then closes out, so ... I'm not sure what the issue is here ?

Oh ok, well that's something. But it seems like that would be prone to clicks or distinct jumps in the sound. What would be better would be a direction control so that it could reverse at a certain point, so you could use an lfo to back and forth. I know you can do that with the granular osc, not sure about the stretch osc though, didn't see a control for that.

just make it on as defaulty in the installer and have people give options to click of with checkmarks, not hard.

u underestimate people who already have older versions installed

But what if the update needs a later version of the Pace driver to run properly - It doesn't install another version of the driver if you have the correct version anyway so what harm is it doing by checking ?

I see now, you were referring to Ether Fields.

Yeah simon. Sorry i thought the other cinematic one is yours too. I got 3 xps now and hope for some nice dark drones and check the soundquality of falcon

I also find it annoying. It always tells me I have to reboot even though no install was done. It's not that big a deal since we don't install often, but it is annoying.

I've wondered why the main UVI installer can't silently check for the version in the background and only pop up the iLok installer if the version is not correct.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Maybe he implied that such a sale would be a great plan to coincide with the Falcon sale (who wouldn´t want to spend the money "saved" on Falcon on a few high-end soundbanks?) 8)
