No - why should I do that? It just says to restart the plugin, not the computer.

True story. Was working on a track and my Vocaloid just stopped working. Shut down Cubase and restarted it. Same thing. Looked at iLok. All my licenses were active and it was running.aMUSEd wrote:No - why should I do that? It just says to restart the plugin, not the computer.
Finally, I shut my PC and restarted it.
Problem solved.
Sometimes these things happen for no understandable reason.
Just try it. What have you got to lose?

Just that I'm busy doing other stuff - I'll restart when I go to bed - just a massive inconvenience just for a misbehaving plugin that should work right from the get go

I have found that restarting the computer will sometimes fix these sorts of inexplicable issues. It is worth tryingaMUSEd wrote:No - why should I do that? It just says to restart the plugin, not the computer.

When I installed the new version I didn't have to reboot, but it probably just depends on your computer and OS.aMUSEd wrote:Thing is it says it's accepted the license file and just to restart the plugin so should be activated but then asks me again

This is a "should statement". Search "should statements" and do a little reading.aMUSEd wrote:Just that I'm busy doing other stuff - I'll restart when I go to bed - just a massive inconvenience just for a misbehaving plugin that should work right from the get go

It's like the saying with food: When it doubt ...throw it out.spunkmuffin wrote:This is a "should statement". For computers, I say when in doubt, reboot.

At least Saurus, Electra and Nemesis have improved from updates. Somehow they sound less artificial and more warm, if that means anything.Vertion wrote:Is it me or has Tone2 dramatically improved their sound? The update is amazing!
Also, Nemesis seems to be more CPU efficient, but that may not be universal feature, since I'm usin LInux.

Sierra AFAIK (because Apple, in their absolute wisdom, considered that would not be useful anymore).zvenx wrote:Are you on Sierra? If not, can't hurt to run a disk utility repair permission...... (not sure which OSX took away that as a user function)

You don't have to restart the computer, you just have to restart the plug-ins. This means deinstantiate it, and the reinstantiate it. That usually completes the task.aMUSEd wrote:Just that I'm busy doing other stuff - I'll restart when I go to bed - just a massive inconvenience just for a misbehaving plugin that should work right from the get go

Yes I thought so too - but I have done both now and still the problem remains. In all hosts I've tried it in, VST and AU. It accepts the tk file, says thankyou for registering please restart your software, but when I restart the activation dialogue comes up again.fmr wrote:You don't have to restart the computer, you just have to restart the plug-ins. I upgraded to the complete Tone2 bundle the other week. I think Nemesis, Electra2, RayBlaster2 and Icarus are brilliant synths, and very light on the CPU (comparing to other synths), and still they sound very good.Markku wrote:At least Saurus, Electra and Nemesis have improved from updates. Saurus2 on the other hand is supposed to be an analog (warm) sounding synth, but in my ears this is far from how I experience it. Compare with, for instance, ACE or Diva from u-he and there are lightyears between. Not saying Saurus2 is not a good synth, but it's pretty "cold" to be, more metallic.

Got a fresh keyfile from Tone2, that has fixed it - somehow it must have become corrupted during install.
