Seriously, I loved the film and enjoyed the music, but apart form a few of those "sounds like War of the Worlds" sounds, I wasn't really aware of the music at all, even though as a synth head I went into the cinema thinking 'can't wait for the music!'.
Blade Runner 2049 soundtrack ... [Possible Spoilers inside ?]

Yeah i kinda liked it but (seriously) i already knew what to expect. Drones, scapes and animated textures with war drums.
After seeing original i mean initial composer lifted off for a reason we'll never know (more story here: https://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=39994 ) and when i saw Zimmer on the list i knew exactly it will be badabum war drums plus drones. This movie beg for it anyway.
And it was nice but i still guess that Jóhann Jóhannsson would prived us equal if not more musical score for the movie.

That's actually what a lot of soundtracks are like these days, also in games. You watched something, or played something, and, afterwards, you're not even able to remind that there was any music. The new Deus Ex games are a perfect example of that. I'm sure the soundtracks are tailored from the fines, but, no way near the originality, and creativity of the first game. Actually, i hardly ever heard anything like it after, and i do remember a lot of melodies from the tracks. Same with the Thief games. Absolutely one of a kind. Nowadays? Perfectly tailored, professional soundtrack which noone remembers. Oh well.samsam wrote:It had a soundtrack?
