In the end, I've beta'ed everything (except 10) and I found there were more favorable things from 8 to 8.3 than from 9 to 10.

To each their own.

Well, now we're talking about two different things. You originally stated "those of us who use/have used it want workflow enhancements. They simply refuse to oblige which is weird", but as pointed out - workflow enhancements do occur.

But if you want to talk about the cost of upgrading/value/etc, then we can talk about that, too. I totally agree the cost of upgrading - for workflow enhancements or otherwise - is costly! ;)

We're not talking about two different things, just two different perspectives.

Anyways, I'm out. I'm not upgrading, I don't like what they are doing, I've moved on to other hosts that are more flexible for my needs.

I'm demoing reason right now and am i right to assume that you cannot use mouse wheel to control fader and knob?

That's a dealbreaker for me.

Nope... the wheel is reserved for scrolling the whole rack...
That's a dealbreaker for me.
I think you´re not alone... Reason isn´t clever enough to make a difference, where the mouse pointer is over like many other hosts do...
It was ever like this... perhaps will never change...

Thanks. Then it's a no for me then. Manually dragging the mouse all the time is just painful.

The deal breaker for me is that Reason can't be started maximized. I hate when I need to maximize the window every time I start Reason.

Joking aside, a bit picky if the deal breaker is that you cannot use the mouse wheel to control faders and knobs, don't you think? There are many other things that must be worse?

Create a template which is maximized then save it and use it as default startup template.
Works as it should here when i do that.

Yes, look at that. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I have tested this before, but maybe not, or if it was a very long time ago.

Anyway, even if it was a little joke, I'm glad there was a way to do this :)

Of course it is. Mouse wheel is time saver, and life saver. Clicking and dragging after a while can get really tiresome.

To follow up on my rants on how Reason looks on high-res small screen (Surface Pro 4), I have to say that there's a pretty good way to remedy it, that was suggested by MacBook user on Youtube: open each window (rack, mixer and sequencer) on separate desktops and just switch between them. This works surprisingly well (some things are still small and pixelated [Redrum in particular], but I guess that's part of the 'charm' of Reason) and I could really work like that!

So I'm hoping that Live 10 will disappoint (me) and I'll be happy to sell my license and buy Reason 10 :D

Both are LOL-worthy to be called "deal breaker" really... To maximise screen is just one click and - as was written - a template can be created to get around this completely. Mouse wheel is for scrolling through arrangement / rack / mixer and I'd be furious if my devices started changing because I was by accident hovering over some parameter...

Yeah, but to each his own. Some might say that my problems with GUI are trivial and LOL-worthy because they're working on a 24'' 1080p screen(s).

I was about to write same thing. Works fine every time.

Hehe gotta wonder where this world goes in what kind of direction if maximizing window is a "deal breaker" for people. One can solve this easily by defining it's own personal start up template but still you have dudes which are expressing deal breaker parole. OMG. Like i said in the post above about dog which blatantly barked at me. Now humming bird just shitted on me so i must hang myself cuz it's a deal breaker.

I cant wait to upgrade. Reason was awesome even as a much lesser program, but at version 10, there really isn't anything I need outside of it. The fact that Propellerhead somehow managed to keep stability rock solid even with the recent integration of VST's baffles me. This version comes with some more new toys to keep us busy and for me the Grain Synth alone is worth the upgrade.
