Five days later (4 business days in Germany), developer still doesn't care to respond to a legitimate question (with a "please" added!).

This is what you're dealing with, people!

I think the developer means that it's "ideal" for you to be triggered by it.

this is a metering tool, not a black box magic processor. it should be precise and predictable. so i would agree that the developer needs to give a precise definition of exactly what was meant by "ideal", and why it wasn't ideal before this update.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Sorry, but you've got to find a better pun.

It should also be easily reproducible.

So yes, once more...

please define "ideal VU meter ballistics"

As developer that adheres to metering standards, this question should be easy to answer.

For reasons unknown to us, we still have to deal with you here :dog:

Oh compyfox again... :clown: Anyways it's a nice plugin. Tested it against our mixing console and it acts the same.

Oh, I'm sorry to be such a disturbance to your perfect world

Where's the problem in answering one simple, legitimate question?
Why did the developer hide since the release of this plugin except for "update announcements"?

Oh wait... the "guard-dogs" (aka "fanboys") did the work for him.

What mixing console are "we" talking about? And can you backup your findings?

I'd really like to talk shop that I've been looking for since page 1 actually

Your aggressive tone and entitled demands aren't "shop talk". This is a useful, free plugin that does what it's meant to, and if the developer doesn't want to discuss with you, it's understandable due to your immature attitude. You're free to use any other plugin you prefer.

that's the point - it is unclear if it indeed does what it is meant to do, because one thing that a metering plugin is meant to do is to be accurate. if you don't care about precision of your metering tools that's fine, but then don't label those to whom these things matter, as trolls. Compyfox actually helped fix metering bugs in earlier versions of this plugin (without acknowledgement from the dev, i might add) precisely because he cares whether a plugin advertised as a VU meter is actually a VU meter, and is so anal about it.

i don't use this plugin as i have VUMT, but i do recommend this plugin as a free and versatile metering option, so i too would like to know exactly what has changed since the last version and what is understood by "ideal", and more importantly, what was wrong before, and why wasn't it spotted earlier.

It isn't a VU meter, so there's little point being anal about that.

have you actually used the plugin, or at least read the description, or even the changelog in question? this plugin is a VU meter (among other things). the changelog mention of "ideal ballistics" has specifically mentioned the VU meter.

Post

Voltage meter as a plugin, only on KVR.
