Look it up my friend. It's only been on TV for 44 years.

As for privacy, please, give me a break.

Point is, just because YOU think I suck at something doesn't mean the whole world shares YOUR opinion, which means absolutely NOTHING to me.
Not here, we watch Brazilian and Portuguese soaps.

Of course not, I didn't say the whole world shares my opinion. My opinion is based on a simple question: would I have any use for your patches?

And the answer is of course no. Who cares? You're so buried back in the stone ages of synthesis I'm sure you have little use for 99% of the stuff that's made today. I mean hell, getting you to say you love any synth at all is a darn near impossibility. So really, why should I care about what you think of my sounds? I'm not programming sounds for you. I'm programming for a completely different market.

There are a whole lot of people like me, though, baby boomers basically  And judging from many YT comments even lots of younger people love the music and sounds from decades ago

Good for them. There's already enough sounds out there for those people. I don't need to add to the noise. I do my own thing, get my own following and don't have to worry about other designers creeping into my territory.

I prefer it this way.

Fair enough.

Makes me wonder, are there any Dune2 soundsets for Jazz, Fusion, R&B, MPB etc.? Or even authentic emulations of real instruments?

To my knowledge, none.

NOT yours.

This thread is about Dune2 and not about your sound libraries and does someone likes them or not.

No not in EDM, layers fill up the mix too quickly and are the enemy of a nice loud mix. You can hear my crap on my soundcloud, I mix pretty damn loud and simply cannot make that work at all with great big mushy hyper layered stuff.

Let me emphasize: songs, not synth demo tracks. That's the key distinction.

About the only place the "big massive layers" approach gets any traction at all is in the hybrid-synth film/game score stuff, where Omnisphere rules the roost. But even then, you find people complaining that most Omni patches are too big and have to be tamed down.

There are of course exceptions, but by and large, you'll notice a strong inverse correlation between super "advanced" sound design synth patch enthusiasm and a propensity to complete significant quantities of what are conventionally known as "decent songs."

Of course I am and I'm calling everyone to report you.
You are arguing about your sound libraries, actually soundbanks, for the last 10 posts on a Dune2 thread.

I'm not even going to argue this. For your basic "song", yeah, simple is best. It's the more esoteric stuff where you find the complex soundscapes and noises. That's what I'm into as far as sound design. But that doesn't mean I don't use simple sounds. But if I'm looking for a trumpet, I go to a sample library and not to a synth. Same with strings or any brass. Same with orchestral percussion. Guitars, banjos, harmonicas, etc. I'm not turning to a synth. If I want something that sounds like a real violin, I'm going to turn to Chris Hein and not Dune 2.

Again, this is why we don't have just ONE synth in our collection. Different needs require different instruments.

At least for me they do.

Welcome to KVR. You must be new here.

But, seriously, i can't see how this is "arguing about sound libraries". I'm not a fan of the spamming of Soundcloud demos either, but, reporting this is pretty ridiculous.

Have fun in finding one single person in entire Universe who will like your soundbanks and that person not being made up by you, buddy.
