Never said the synth was excellent. Show me where I said the synth was excellent. The sales page says 150 Sounds For The Incredible Hive.

I gave my honest opinion about Hive. And the words I used were thin and lifeless, not thin and weedy. And the FX are horrible. You have to stack every single one of them to get a decent sound.

The sales page is nothing more than what it is, a sales page. I'm not going to put my review of the synth on the page. It's irrelevant to the library sounds themselves. If the sounds I made suck, nobody will buy it. That's all they care about. Not whether or not I think Hive is an "incredible" synth.

If you have a problem with that it's YOUR problem.

I can sleep with an absolutely clear conscience as I have in no way misrepresented the product being sold. The demo is made up of the sounds in the library with no external processing outside of compression and limiting.

So you want to see a problem with my sales page as in being in conflict with my personal opinion, be my guest.

Okay, let me make this so crystal clear that even YOU can understand it.

I am allowed to separate my personal feelings about a synth from the sales page I create to sell the library I've created for that synth. In fact, how I feel about the synth, good or bad, is totally irrelevant to what the customer is buying.

As long as the demo is an accurate representation of the product being sold and as long as I offer a money back guarantee (required by Paypal) in the event they are not satisfied, there is absolutely nothing on my sales page that any agency on this planet would say is unethical or untrustworthy even if I said to them that I didn't think the synth itself was so great.

You're taking the word "Incredible" to mean my personal endorsement of the synth. It is not. It is just an adjective to describe it that the customer can relate to and get excited by, not that they really have to be excited at this point anyway as they've already bought the synth.

If I were an affiliate selling the synth for a commission, then yes, going on about how amazing the synth was when I really thought it was crap would be highly unethical and I frown on reviews like that. But these are people who already bought Hive. They don't really care what I think about it. All they care about is that they get a sound library that they can use to make music with.

You're the one who wants to make more of this than what it actually is. And while I can't stop you, I'm not going to sit here and just let you paint me out to be some horrible capitalist monster who can't be trusted with anything he does or says.

If my patches sucked, nobody would buy them. And nobody who is looking for sounds gives a crap what I think about the synth itself. They just want the sounds to sound good. And given how many Hive libraries I've sold (31st out of 54 libraries) obviously there are a significant number of people out there who DO like my sounds.

As far as the economic suicide, maybe. Ask me if I care? I'm not going to come here and talk about how amazing a synth is if I don't think it's all that amazing. That would be lying. But that shouldn't disqualify me from creating a library for the synth and selling it. There is no law, legal, ethical, moral or otherwise that says that I have to love a synth to make a sound library for it. Because if that were the case, know how many 3rd party libraries would be out there? Not many.

If anything, I'm more honest than the shills that come here and talk about how amazing a synth is and post 35 Soundcloud demos and don't really think the synth is all that amazing. But it's business and I understand that.
