I've got an 8-bar line that I would like to make 16... how do I do that? I'd like to do it by typing – if I try to drag the length tab, it only increases the line by one beat at a time, which is painfully slow.

How do I change the length of a line? I haven't used RC in about a month... I think I remember being able to change a line length via the structure panel... but that setting doesn't seem to be there anymore

Are you talking about dragging the handle in the ruler? Seems to go well for me this way.

I'm talking about this thing:
I can drag it to the left, but not to the right.
Anyway, somewhere RC knows the length of the line. I want to type in a new length. How do I do that?

There are several ways to make a line longer. It is true you cannot type a length, this may be implemented in the future.
What you need is right clicking on the timeline, and selecting "Insert X Beats/Bars" at the clicked position:

But there are other ways. If you click on the timeline (when the timeline is in keyboard focus), you can press '+' to add one beat at any position.
If you selected a region on the timeline, e.g. 1 bar, pressing '*' (asterisk) will duplicate the region thus making the line longer.
If you selected a region on the timeline and press Ctrl-C, paste (Ctrl-V) will increase the line length.
Thanks,
Attila

With the Track length drag, if that would auto scroll while dragging past right would be good (unless there is a setting for this ?).
Thanks for drag phrase anywhere and piano scroll working good now !

Mouse wheel
I can scroll horizontally by hovering mouse over bottom slider or +Shift or Alt drag Timeline
I can zoom horizontally by Ctrl drag Timeline.
I can scroll vertical
I can zoom vertical +Ctrl
I should be able to hover mouse over the Timeline bars to scroll horizontally and +Ctrl to zoom
or have I missed something ??
* But don't use shift + scroll on your browser as it will scroll back pages and you will loose the post you have just been typing

So I drag a midi in containing keyswitches, Convert to Relative with Articulations.
The keyswitches need to cover the notes they are under, so as long as the keyswitches are down the above notes will play the articulations, so those notes in the Relative phrase need Articulations to get the tremolo & harmony over those notes.
Thanks for adding Articulation #2

Hi.
Quick bug report for beta 3.4b4.
When choosing sustain in the track midi controllers it is sustain only in the name but works as a modulation instead. After quitting the RapidComposer then starting and reloading a project it's modulation even in the name.
Thanks.

Hello Attila,
yesterday night I posted a new topic for RapidComposer 3.3. As I am not very familiar with forums I missed to add the related product information, did not get the images inline and submitted it as "Start new Topic". It seems that the post is now somewhere in the Nirwana. Sorry for that.
Here is the link.

Can you move the post to this topic and add the missing information.
Many Thanks,
Meinolf

Hello Meinolf,
Welcome to this forum!
I have read your questions and will reply shortly.
It is fine if you started a new topic with your questions. It is not necessary to move your post here.
I was trying to look into how key-switches in articulations should work. In the latest beta version (I'll send you the download links) key-switches are released, a Note Off is sent after the Note On, but according to a user the key-switch should be held down while the note you are playing is held down, so I am not sure anymore. In v3.3 it was a problem that a Note Off was never sent for a key-switch. I want to fix this problem now, I'll upload v3.31 only when this bug is fixed.
Thanks,
Attila

Ouch! This is getting more complicated. Why did not you assign Tremolo to the rest of the notes?
So there are key-switches that are simple ON-switches like in this tutorial:
https://music.tutsplus.com/tutorials/qu ... audio-6936
You have to turn them off using another key-switch. This is how it works in v3.4b4, and this is how I expected that key-switches work.
And other key-switches should be held down so that they have an effect, like on the video you uploaded. I can't see how this could be automated because these may span several notes, and probably it is easiest if you add a long note for the key-switch.
Any feedback on this is welcome, because I thought they work as they should in v3.4b4.
Thanks,
Attila

Hi Attila
key switches can work diffrent depend on VSTi. some VSTi switch back to sustain if release a keyswitch key. ample guitar for example do that and other guitar VSTi too. reason is, because mostly play not much notes with same articulation. if possible maybe you can add in future an option to allow keyswitches that stay until another keyswitch is come or stay only as long the keyswitch key is press

I see, thanks for the clarification. I am trying to find the simplest solution.
One idea is that each key-switch articulation "A" would have an "end of A" counterpart, available in the articulations menu. You could place this "end of A" anywhere where you want to end the effect of "A". How does this sound?
If "A" is just an ON switch, you don't have to place "end of A" anywhere.
I realize it would be good to show the articulations in the tracks, above the notes or phrases.
Thanks,
Attila
