It's maybe true that last in - first out would be the most fair rule, but don't forget people (it's not directed to you elassi) that these are not normal auctions, but charity auctions that are ruled by the rules stated on the first page. By participating you are agreeing to play by the rules - whatever they are.elassi wrote:re. bid order
If we need lawyers to check the validity of bids the whole spirit of the auction is gone. (2ct)
Don't think of this as an opportunity to score a $1000 plugin bundle for a fraction of cost. We are here to help children by having some fun with bidding against each other in a friendly fashion. I know that it can be frustrating - I lost many battles here over the years and won a few. But I remember about the ultimate goal (as elassi writes - "the whole spirit of the auction") and it helps me with the frustration

A question about XLN Addictive drums Custom bundle:
If we already have AD2, do we get the content added to our account? I ask because in the webpage the bundles are just for new customers, I wonder if anyone has experience with this.
Thanks!

Hi all,
It's my first time participating in this. Can't help scratching my head after reading the last few pages. Instead of the trouble of figuring whose bid replaces which item, why not just track the last 3 (unique) highest bidder?
E.g.:
Item XYZ (3 copies) High bidders:
Mr. A $100
Mr. B $90
Mr. C $80
Sorry for my ignorance if the actual process of tracking them is a whole lot more complicated than I thought by using the "search this topic" function of the forum, as the results seems to be auto sorted by most recent posts first. Just my 2c.

All bids are updated.
Listen, the only time where I will go into depth about timestamps and what bid is the "current" winning bid is during the final minute when you end up having actually won something, then we can talk about who won what, timestamps etc. Until then, it's just a matter of staying alive as someone wrote and to be honest, my time is not for nitpicking equal bids - if there's an equal bid then hey... place a higher bid, problem solved.

This auction is also a good opportunity to pick things up that you've had your eye on before but never pulled the trigger for one reason or the other. Now, at least there is a positive incentive to do so. Hopefully, this is enough to push the decision past a maybe and go through with it. For instance, I've had my eye on avenger but never really felt compelled to buy it since I have rapid and have been focusing on that. With the auction, at least I'll know I contributed to a good cause, whether I'll use the synth or not. Before, I would hesitate to pay full price, with the auction, I actually have no qualms paying over the retail value. Just thought I'd add me few cents as well

Luftrum has enough to think about while updating to try and remember which bid is which. Not as a rule, but It seems if the bidders themselves could restrain as much as possible to only bid on one of an item listed multiple times - in the spirit of fairness and politeness. It is a good cause that helps others and I personally have even been willing to go as high as the MSRP. I may want a 'good deal', but it's not as imperative as the good it ultimately does.
Love and respect to Luftrum and all those donating this year,
Bid respectively and fairly so that many can.
And let's not get too distracted by our innate forum litigiousness?
