Just in case you're not familiar with DMG Audio Dave Gamble the owner and DSP programmer used to work for Focusrite, Novation, Sonalksis, Neyrinck, Brainworx.
Demoing the Sonalksis plugins is what got be into DMG Audio I really liked those but by the time I could afford them he started DMG Audio I always follow the lead programmer and not the company name.

I'd say u-he Presswerk for lotsa variety at a reasonable price in a single plugin.
If you're OK with using more than one plugin for a variety of flavors from mild to way OTT:
- PSP comps sound insanely good (FETPressor, VintageWarmer, OldTimer, BussPressor get a lot of use here)
- Voxengo stuff is also stupendous

The engine behind Mturbocomp in edit mode is quite ridiculously packed with features. I dont think there is anything like it.
Win11, 16 Gig RAM, Intel i7 Quad 3.9, Reaper 7.16, RME Hamerfall HDSP9652, Steinberg MR816x

Mturbocomp. It has lots of different compressor models and if you want you can even go in and design your own. Its crazy the amount of things it can do.

Those are all really good answers. I’ll definitely have to check out the DMG stuff. The U-He plugin looks intense. The MTurboComp is also something that I’ll have to demo, maybe for when it goes on sale.

MTurboComp and Presswerk do "11"quite well where as i have always found Compassion to sound really rigid when it tries to do 11.it's exceptionally good at being a compressor but it doesn't do wonky stuff well (IMO at least)which is odd cause Expurgate is the sickest gate i have ever used.my vote would go for MTurboComp.you can really break that thing and it is still usable.the 1st version of Marquis Compressor was good at this too with the ability to customise the release contour.shame he made the 2nd version so "safe"and got rid of the cool phase and sharp modes(OT reminiscing my bad)
