Exactly, then if Luftrum sends the money to STC fund via Paypal, instead of bank account, there would be no currency conversion, yes?

Paypal wants at least 2.2% for charity donations, too much at risk with 30k to be shut down by paypal over using the gift option

I added an important charity ending notice on page 1 about the final phase of the charity, how to find the winners, how to transfer the total etc. new this year is the following:

The cost of this charity are the PayPal fees and currency exchange when withdrawn from PayPal to my bank account. I once challenged PayPal to waive their fees but since my account isn’t a non-profit organisation they will not do so. This year I am asking you to add an extra 4% on top of your winning bids to add up for the fees. I will not enforce an additional 4%, you decide if you want to add it, but an extra 4% of a winning bid on $100 is only $104 and hopefully you can afford that - considering the bargain you will be making.

Hopefully this will add up for some of the fees. What's your thought about it by the way? Should it be enforced? Added on volunteer basis or?

We got new great contributions from these kindhearted companies:
  • Eventide Audio
  • eaReckon
  • Progsounds

I think it is too late to "enforce" it since it did not start out that way. I am sure many will do it no problem though.

@Luftrum, this issue with Paypal was also an issue last year, and it will be an issue every year. What are the qualifications according to Paypal to get a special Paypal account with a non profit organization status? It would be nice if it was possible to create a Paypal account especially for this yearly charity. Just a thought.

I seem recall in the "old days" there was an 0% fee PayPal option for charities but today it seems that all PayPal accounts - also those purely related to charity - are bound to pay fees and for charities that's 2.2% +0.3 per transaction according to https://www.paypal.com/charities/

There's not that much to save then... I just wrote Save The Children Denmark if they got a PayPal account we can use directly to avoid me as the middleman and then we can save the currency exchange too.

I see what you are trying to do here my friend, but I can't replace your own bid at a specific # as the bid you are pointing to is higher than your own one below, I can only raise your own $35 bid to $45 since this will generate the most for charity - it doesn't matter if you are the same bidder on all items, you are still the "lowest" bidder on two of them, if that makes any sence. I do not distinguish the name of the bidder, only the bid amount. Am I rambling here? :)
