Recording with onboard sound?

I was wondering if the nforce audio that comes with my abit nf7 was good enough to make quality recordings while my audiocard is in dispose. Basically I'm asking, is it input or output that's affected with non-professional cards.

Both. You could probably record but the noise floor would be terribly high and the convertors are going to be rubbish.
Give it a go though, if you are happy with it then thats all that counts.
