Making this year again a new record is really superb, especially in this challenging economical environment - I wish the Red Barnet has an effective organization, so that the operating efficiency of the collected funds really goes to the grass roots in the best possible way. The chaos and agony in the world has just multiplied in the past 6 years, and we know that the children bear too big share of all this madness.

From $ 8712 in 2011, when Luftrum organized the first Kvr Audio Charity, to over $ 38000 this year, is a remarkable accomplishment. There was a big jump between 2014-2015 from $ 18924 to $ 31366.

I would argue that our coverage/awareness of the agony around the world has multiplied, not necessary the quantity of suffering. But, the more awareness the better. Hopefully the continued availability of real information will help reduce the number of jerks out there who for so many centuries could bury their behavior in propaganda and misdirection. It's still not a perfect information filter, but it is getting better.Harry_HH wrote:The chaos and agony in the world has just multiplied in the past 6 years, and we know that the children bear too big share of all this madness.![]()

Whoops! Of course I'll honour that donation. Extra Zebra Bundle for bftucker (whose KVR handle I almost ALWAYS misread).Luftrum wrote:Benjamin, yes I noticed that.bftucker wrote:I have paid for something I didn't win. My apologies. Rather than attempt to correct it, please consider my mistake a donation!

You know what? Matt (The Unfinished) is a real good guy, what if we hear him if he can throw an extra Zebra Bundle into the lot now you already donated by mistake? I will hear him.

The number of absolute poor are declining according to World Bank, but no doubt there are still many stuck in that trap nevertheless

I don't mean to imply that there are not a bunch of people affected by both man made and nature made events. There certainly are...Numanoid wrote:The number of absolute poor are declining according to World Bank, but no doubt there are still many stuck in that trap nevertheless![]()

For some reason people seem to equate their access to the info about the events to an increase in the number of events. This is not case.
It's like assuming that athletes from the pre-testing era were drug free because they never tested positive for drugs. There's been slime bags doing despicable things to people for as long as there have been people. And good ol' mamma nature has done her share along the way as well.

Yes, but the madness doesn´t show very well in those statistics. Syria, Iraq, many other parts in the Middle East, North Korea, Somalia, Afghanistan - just to name few. If the migration is now one of the main topics in the political agenda in many countries, who knows what happens if the future, if we can´t together solve better the global imbalancies.Numanoid wrote:The number of absolute poor are declining according to World Bank, but no doubt there are still many stuck in that trap nevertheless![]()

Both Ghostwave Audio bundles sent to the winners.
I'll be happy to participate again next year, as I've been for a few years now.

Luftrum, I am encouraged by the positive sentiments above. If it isn't too late and if Heavyocity are willing to donate another copy of NOVO, I can still put the same amount I bid earlier for a copy of NOVO.
Regardless, great job Luftrum.. I have visited Lebanon before and know the amount of tragedy associated with having over 1.2 million Syrian refugees, on top of over 450 thousand Palestinian refugees, on top of 3.5 million Lebanese all crammed in a country just over 10,000 Sq Km. The situation there is dire for absolutely everyone. Watch Aljazeera English online to attach some images in your mind to the above.
