I'm dragging a rhythm phrase from the rhythm browser to the phrase in the track, but the rhythm of the phrase on the track does not change (

i notice some time ago and report. it happen that the rythm is go to phrase variation. look at phrase variation . if do more often drop rythms, then more phrase variation entries for rythm is create. maybe this was usefull for older RC that support no rythm in generators or for non generator phrases. i think when it is possible that in phrases that have generator rythm, then it replace this.

Thank you, lulukom, I am checking this.
It seems you closed the application before all custom phrases were loaded. This should not crash, I hope I'll have a fix soon.

I am sorry, this happens sometimes. The crashing bug in Ostinato generator is fixed. Hopefully there are no more issues.
Although I was using it all the time in the last 3 days, I never tried to save it and drag it from the Phrase Browser. That is when the crash occurred. A big thanks to lulukom

Yes, sorry, I promised to make Drum Accents some time ago...

Some explanation:
"Velocity Range" will add some randomness to "note on" velocities. You can set a "minimum" and a random "range" value for each note type:
- downbeat: 1st beat of the bar
- on-beat: 3rd beat of the bar (for 4 beats per bar only. For 3 beats per bar and others: down-beat, off-beat, off-beat...)
- off-beat: 2nd and 4th beat of the bar
- 8th notes
- 16th notes

For example if you want to assign a random velocity between 60 and 80, you need to set the minimum to 60 and the range to 20. For the random range a value is selected from 0 to 20 randomly.
You can have very interesting changing rhythm patterns if you add "Velocity Range" to a track and automate the parameters, e.g. as on this screenshot:

Hey, glad to hear the hard work in the ostinato generator

I am working on a small project for a video I shot and ran into a crash as well. It crashed on me while dragging items in the structure browser. The funny thing is, it crashed twice back to back, then I fired up my screen cap software and it stopped crashing. It is like the bug knew it was being photographed. lol

Thanks for the Ostinato Gen just trying it out with Kontakt strings, sound great.

RC is coming together now to use full time.
I can import all my midi with KS and convert to phrases store in the RC library.
Just drag them in anywhere (though it would be good to select multiple phrases in the Library to fill the track with rather than dragging one by one).
"being able to handle controller messages belonging to phrases and notes" this will
allow the bends/vibratos to be imported in the phrases.
And being able to "Lock" certain notes in a phrase (no transpose).

If I need to move all the notes up/down a 1/2 step at a time, I need to select all > change to Absolute then use the up/down arrows to move all by a 1/2 step, If I select all then try to drag them up/down they jump out off sync. This is where you need that Drag+key ? to move up/down ONLY without converting to Absolute.

Again the "custom phrases" loader crashed. I know how to fix this. There won't be such problem in the next beta version.
EDIT: to avoid this crash please do not use the Phrase Browser until the phrases have been loaded.
