Ouch, I didn't know these synths are that promiscuous, I must check out what they are doing when I'm not at home
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Man, I hope you get more sales, it makes me feel bad that I got such a good deal on both SM and SMO. But I truly appreciate it, because I'm pretty poor in one of the most expensive places on the planet, so thanks for having products that more of us can afford. Even $15 is nearly a third of my discretionary budget for the month.kv331 wrote:Yeah but the fact of the matter is we can not sell enough licenses. That's a shame! In my opinion - and for what is worth - Synthmaster One is hands down one of the best sounding synth ever made and its price is ridiculously low compared to what it offers!kv331 wrote: Yeah but the fact of the matter is we can not sell enough licenses. Not only that, it's really user-friendly and it has an amazing workflow to work with, considering the number of features and the depth of sound-design you reach with it (try audition some patches for those who do not believe me).
The only thing I feel it lacks - if I may suggest something - is a proper multiband/x-comp/ott and the like compressor kind of effect.
I believe that most of the "impact"/"sound quality"/"richness"/"fullness" (whatever you want to call it) other people describe for synths like Serum and Spire, imvho, is mainly due to the multiband compressor at the end of the chain.
Try on Serum and Spire to auditions the same patches without it (where applicable of course) : every time I do that the sound becomes thinner and has less impact.
So, having said that, my personal suggestion for Synthmaster/Syntmaster One developers would be: add a multiband compressor mode similar to what OTT (Serum) or X-Comp (Spire) do. To me it sounds great as it is but with that feature availabe, on some sounds, I believe it would benefit.
My two pennies
Ciao

No offence, but imo this is a better example to show off how - a synth of that league - can sound:VELLTONE MUSIC wrote:Lazy turtles my new favourite synth for 17 euro can do this

This sounds very promising, but also it is also ambiguous plan if we assume that blofeld with 16 layers (no full fx though) starts for 400 eur +100 eur sampling option and Axoloti virtual modular is available for just 65 eur. I guess with four layers we might expect SM hardware somewhere in between with pathches fully programmable on desktop and party adjustable with performance controls in hardware? With four layers and reasonable price I would also hope you will consider daisy chain option for more layers and full performance/patch update for all units at once via single control message.kv331 wrote:....

What is sad is because this synth is so cheap people will write it off but it's just as good as any $100 synth out there to me.

+1 ..could not agree more. I have made some complete tracks with SMO alone. It is fast to work with because of it's logical GUI and it sounds very nice. Sound design made easy IMHO.ATS wrote:What is sad is because this synth is so cheap people will write it off but it's just as good as any $100 synth out there to me.

Has anyone tried making new skins for SMO yet?
