Creepy atmosphere! Always nice to see some non-EDM stuff. You can do some pretty cool stuff by combining chorus, comb and distortions. To make things more dynamic, I recommend using the send-fx in with multiple layers and experiment with modulators on send depth.kiezum wrote:An attempt to make a drone/soundscape/ambient piece with Rapid..

That is a good idea. Rapid is so easy on the cpu, that I just put reverb, etc on every part. But using send will open up more possibilities.parawave wrote:To make things more dynamic, I recommend using the send-fx in with multiple layers and experiment with modulators on send depth.
In this video I do an experiment with the modifiers on the main page. This section could be expanded with for example a tune knob (to change the pitch of all the parts). I know, I could assign a macro, but some more modifiers on the main page would be great (or more macro's).

Somehow my Rapid 1.04 install seems to have lost contact with the WT's. I load the synth and it receives MIDI but no sound..when I try and load a preset just to get sound out it shows the spinny sci-fi wheel and then a horizontal line in Osc1 if I click the WT display that line becomes slightly diagonal and no waveforms in any OSC windows... I tried reset and various things in the file menu to load a sound to no avail. The Rapid folder where the WT's is there and fine on my external HDD (.pws) files. (i.e. seen in windows no troubles)
If I click the "FACTORY" cube button in the Osc1 windows it opens an almost full GUI size blank black partitioned screen.
Not sure how to make it see the WT's/samples successfully again.
I am considering an uninstall and full resinstall with latest incarnation 1.1.0 unless there is a quick way to point the synth at the WT's. (I think I just go with that, probably fastest, I planned to install 1.1.0 before starting this latest track anyway)

Uninstalled/re-installed 1.1.0 from scratch including factory sounds on the external HDD and same issue so will open support request.
Edited to add : Seem to have sorted it now. My Factory sounds were installed but not activated as per the "Content" button...which I had to do via the server/Parawave account. After importing the licence file from the server all seems to be ok. Though not sure why it became inactivated as I never changed any locations of files etc. ? Anyway seems to load presets ok now.

Yes, in case of doubt I always recommend checking the extension manager by clicking the "Content" button and see if the license is still activated. If you didn't relocate or removed samples, a new installation of the factory sounds isn't necessary.Synthman2000 wrote:Seem to have sorted it now. @Development:
Still working on the new GUI. The new resolution at 100% will be 1280x720 (instead of current 1076x660) which will scale nicely on the probably most common 16:9 screens. At least 200% will be provided.
The default themes will be located in an external folder, so users or 3rd party designers can provide/edit their own themes.
Planned for release are a polished version of the current orange/white theme and a darker version. Also probably a blue theme (seems to be a universally liked colour).
Which colour schemes would like to see in the future? I already have a few other themes reminiscent to classic synths/styles in mind. Suggestions?

Cool it is good to listen to others. Personally speaking I am perfectly at home with the original GUI exactly as it is..it works well and I like the layout of where everything is in Rapid. Like the colours, I feel I am really using Rapid when I use it cause nothing looks like it. And I don't know if it is just me but good sounds come easily using Rapid when you have 1/2 a goal and you follow through you always find something cool on the way you were not expecting.
Really nice synth to tweak, fun is very important.

I would love a Virus Control inspired theme. It has really nice colours.parawave wrote:

Is it possible to control/change the colours of Virus TI control ? Here the plug in loads up as white, grey and darker grey.
Pretty much this...
Or did I miss a tongue in cheek comment ?
I really like the visual feedback in Rapid with the blue and red semi circles as you modulate things and the WT scanning. Probably the best visual feedback from any VSTi..at least on par with Serum. And to my ear sounds better than Serum for some sounds. Serum is my FM beast.. I go for Rapid over Serum generally taste wise.

Unless im missing something it is not possible to change the Virus plugin colour scheme. But i love the look of it, especially the colours.
Since Rapid is pretty much able to sound like Virus it would be cool if it looked like it

I have no idea if the copyright allows, but a flat theme exactly like Ableton live knobs and in it’s default color (or Lance’s palette - see his page below) would be welcome.parawave wrote:

Also Lance T chose a great palette (imho) for a sylenth skin, maybe you can get some inspiration: https://pureav.deviantart.com/art/Sylen ... -430769010
