:idea: I have made some MIDI Program-Change Preset-Maps for SonicSynth-1, OmniSynth-1 and the 5 eRom SR-1 Collections.

These patch files (only suitable for SampleTank 2LE/2L/2XL plugin and the SonicReality ST-1 Sounds) can be downloaded from http://asseca.no.sapo.pt/sr.html

I hope these files are of some use to you.

Please post your comments on these SR patches in this thread...

Cool, I'll be checking these out...

Hang on, are these new (modified) instruments, or MIDI program change banks?

Forever,

Kim.

Post

how do you load these presets?
I've read the manual, but it only seems to tell how to save them!

Jeez,

These are MIDI program change banks.

Bluedad,

1. Press the "PROGRAM CH" button
2. Teh "PROGRAM CH" dialog box now appears
3. Press the "Open Map" button
4. In the "Open" Dialog Box that appears, navigate to the folders where the .STMP files are unzipped
5. Select the .STMP file you wish to load
6. Press "Open" button in "Open" Dialog Box
7. Press "OK" in the "PROGRAM CH" Dialog Box
8. Now you can select the MIDI program change thru your MIDI-controller or MIDI-sequencer...

Well, I have problem with this new feature of Sampletank :
I have seen in the Sampletank 2 documentation that when you use the arrows buttons in the left of the GUI, it goes to the previous or the next sound and it loads this sound in the current part.
It doesn't work for me.
And the same if I affect a program change to a sound, it doesn't load it when I send this program change from my keyboard or a sequencer.

Is it the same for you ?

I have this in my ST2LEPref.txt file :
BrowseDown=-1
BrowseLoad=-1
BrowseUp=-1
The browseDown and up let you go to the previous or next sound from your keyboard by giving the midi number of the notes but it does not work too !

If someone know what to do...

pquenin,

Unfortunately, I found ST2 to be a bit forgetful, it does not remember the last loaded MIDI Program-Change Preset-map. I have the same problem with ST2 remembering MIDI-CC settings...
Actually I have not found any way to let ST2 remember the MIDI Preset-map or the MIDI-CC settings. Everytime the MIDI Preset-map has to be loaded manually.
Once a map is loaded, it works fine for me by just changing the "Program Change" on my keyboard controller. (Evolution MK-361/MK461)

BrowseUp / BrowseDown / BrowseLoad works fine, each need a numeric value(1..127) >> e.g. note C3 = value 60.
A MIDI-part must first be selected, then when pressing the BrowseDown key, the sound selection (NOT the MIDI preset-map) will move 1 position down.
BrowseUp will move the sound selection 1 up.
BrowseLoad will load the selected sound into the previously selected MIDI-part.

Remember, it is possible to set multi MIDI parts to react to a single MIDI-channel.
This can create some interesting multi-timbre sounds...

Hi Assesca-
Very cool! I a tad confused tho- I am looking for Cubase SX drum maps for the Sampletank 2 XL drumkits- the jist I'm getting is these maps you posted are something different mainly because a cubase drum map is something you load in Cubase not in Sampletank2 XL. Are there any CubaseSX drum maps for ST2XL floating around?

Check the other thread for a more thorough answer about drums but here again: www.sonicreality.com/squidscorner/IMapDrummaps.zip

Cool Asseca. Thanks for sharing with everyone.

Post

Thanks Squidz- I just made a cubase drum map for the Don Kezner Drumkit in ST2XL. These help a great deal for people who step program drums, and I think it just helps in general for any Cubase application involving ST2 XL drumkits to have the sounds properly named. I have no place to UPLOAD and POST this file for other users tho.
