I plan on buying a second computer in the next six months or so. My LCD monitor requires a driver in order to work. (I plan on using the monitor with both computers.) How do I transfer the driver? Would a network connection be the best way? I just looked at a program called Fast Lynx, but it needs to be installed on both computers before using. :/

Hi cyanogen,

Just install the driver on the new machine in whatever format the original drivers came or use - floppy disk - burn a CD - download it from the manufactures website or use a usb storage device to transfer it from one to the other...

If all else fails try a compatable Switch Box.

The only 'driver' for a monitor that I've EVER been aware of since Win95's inception is parameter files (IE what sync modes and resolutions it can handle). That's IT. With most monitors being DDE2 compliant, it'll tell the computer what it is, and install the right stuff too now. Even if you only picked generic, I wouldn't worry about it too much either.

If I'm not mistaken, when you install a "driver" for a monitor, it's mostly just telling your system which resolutions and refresh rates it's capable of, but that's about it. If you already know that information, pick a generic driver and you're sorted.
