Hahaha... that sounds like a little dig at an earlier post, where I said I was lazy and just liked to use one finger... well I will use one finger now Peter>>>
I guess we all come to OSC for our own reasons...
I am so much enjoying this dammn Thorn in my side...
I have even progressed to a 3 finger (trying 4 but still bit messy) arp preset that has Thorn giving the illusion of a strumming guitar with a low drum and my signature silly sounds going on in just one instance of Thorn..
My Favourite art is Impressionism.. the artist creating an illusion... This I try as my sound design art... the OSC gives me a target... like the kick up my butt that is needed... :tu:

Looking forward to your glitch and Arp Patches...Now I expect some crazy stuff. Better deliver  :hihi:

Why not do a Single-Finger-One-Patch Song one day...Crazy Meldaproduction which offers a ton of creative FX plugins - sadly too many of them commercial and thus forbidden in OSC - ran a "one note challenge" in august: The rules were, that you can only use just any one note and the goal was to create a complete track of that note with just the help of Meldas plugins. Take a look at the submission: https://www.meldaproduction.com/contest/default/11

Thanks, Dmitri! :tu:

Along with my guitar strummer, I also have some other "lazy" patches that amuse me and a theme/story..
Now to make them all work together and choose the right links and transitions. Only gentle_Glitching Peter or otherwise it takes rather than gives BUT...
I'll take a listen later.... sounds just my type of thing..
I am demoing their AutoDynoEq>> wow what a tool THAT is... as well as the dynamic EQ, there is this harmonics mode... OMFG what a creative sound sculpting unit that can be>>modulating parameters to twist, warp and well anything.
I wish I had known about the competition in time... just my type of thing Peter.

So far I can't really call Thorn a CPU hog, though it is not a lean mean machine, it is doing a lot of work to create it's flavour of sound!
For sure I would not want to be using 147 instances.. heck.. I have trouble if my count goes over the number of fingers and toes I have...

it must have SOME kind of optimisation?
I'm at 20 instances, still around 30% of the CPU, so it can't be THAT bad.

That seems pretty good for a new Synth on a modern CPU. Synth_Devs can do things algorithmically now that they could only dream of a few years ago>> surely this is what WE want to create new and exciting sounds
otherwise we would all still be using Synth1 (great synth.. but>> progress and evolution woohoo ).

Hello guys, and here another 1.0.4 update goes. You could download it at the website or by these links:

For Windows: http://dmitrysches.com/files/download/Thorn_Win_104.zip
For Mac: http://dmitrysches.com/files/download/Thorn_Mac_104.zip

Here is the change log:

- Added MSEG/STEPPER OneShot mode
- Now Thorn remembers recent folder when importing WAV-files
- Fixed Windows 32 bit stability issues
- Adjusted polyphony stealing scheme, now Thorn tries to not steal sustained voices if possible
- Adjusted LFO syncing when Arp is on
- Added "Disable MIDI Output" option to solve MIDI recording issue in Sonar
- Fixed multiple minor GUI/processing issues
- Adjusted user manual

Just few comments on this update. I wanted to add CPU idle mode for it, but it turned out that it's a quite hard task. But I'll be exploring it further, because it would be cool to save more CPU for sure.

More updates to come... Again, thank you for feedback, reports and support!

Awesome and nice! Thanks Dmitry!

Nice one! Thanks Dmitry.

Cool, many thankings!

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but do you think there's a realistic chance that you could adjust the distortion module to make more subtle settings viable? The distortion itself sounds great, but it kicks in too early and too heavily. If that's not in the cards, well, the filter drive knob does the job well enough.

Recent folders>> phew... BC I always forget where I am or was
Disabled MIDI output>> great as I like to layer in same track and was not getting expected result, then realised no1 Thorn was outputting it's Arped_MIDI to no2 Thorn. :D
TY Dmitry... some really good fixes here :tu:
