You need to download the set of windows xp installation startup disks from microsoft - this will allow you to format your other drive and create the relevant NTLDR system data - this is a requirement of windows XP install so you muct go through this step even if you buy a new drive - do this with what was your D drive and that should solve your problem. Good Luck.

You can do a reinstall as a repair, which won't touch what you have installed. Try that first. If that don't fix it, clean reistall it.
