What date does the intro offer expire ?
I know the offer lasts the first 30 days after it was released but I don’t know when the first day was.

27th November is 4 weeks after the launch date, so that seems likely. We always say the first month, can't remember how we define a month (the same date a months time, 4 weeks, 30 days), so it'll be sometime around then.Acid Mitch wrote:What date does the intro offer expire ?

You've got a demo licence installed? When you say it just started happening, are you inferring it was working but now isn't? Have you tried uninstalling, reinstalling the demo license and reinstalling? Where is the resources directory in the installer pointing?
Send in another support email, we'll have a look - we've got no other cases like this to my knowledge.

I tried using it by stopping the audio, then switching the model and continuing the audio, but since the autogain is still on the previous setting it will also cause the volume burst in this use case. (switching from * to 2A.)DaveGamble wrote:I'll have a ponder as to whether there's anything that could be done to improve this, but switching between models on the fly, with audio passing through is not intended usage.

A dbx 160 type of thing would be nice though, because of the auto attack/release, which isn't available in DMG mode.Krzysztof Oktalski wrote:Hopefully a surprising number, there are facets that people have yet to discuss. For example, with a bit of RMS on the DMG mode it's pretty easy to get the DBX sound, or any number of other well engineered bits of hardware that we didn't include because it would have come out nearly identical to the dmg mode with a setting tweaked a little.Caine123 wrote:so which plugins can i trash now when i get this ? ;D

I don't think I've done it correctly. Does that imply that you think that I have? :Ssfxsound3 wrote:No comment on the Autogain implementation? If you think you've done it correctly, I think you haven't.
I don't think it /can/ be done "correctly"; there's no absolute spec for this, because it IS related to compression, and it's the same reason we have so many compressors that we like.
This is a tradeoff between getting a level match (over what timebase?) and getting you results fast (how long can you wait before it starts adjusting?). What we have here is a tuned tradeoff that we found usable.
Responding any faster, causes transients drive it nuts. Responding slower (some other plugin does the adjust once?) is better, if you don't care about the delay.
What are your thoughts?
Dave.

Fabfilter Pro C 2 has a great autogain algorithm that doesn’t jump or spike, maybe a second algorithm for a future release?DaveGamble wrote:I don't think I've done it correctly. If only the make up gain slider was closer to threshold slider I wouldn’t care for autogain at all.
I would have Input Output gain together and Threshold Make up gain together.

Sorry, but I can't help but notice that my comment (about using it as intended, not switching models with audio running through it, still causing volume spikes) was just ignored.

Oh, sorry, should have mentioned. I've improved this for the 2A model, which was by far the worst offender.omiroad wrote:Sorry, but I can't help but notice that my comment (about using it as intended, not switching models with audio running through it, still causing volume spikes) was just ignored.
Much much harder to do for the others. Any other major offenders?
Dave.

The 76D seems to have a lot lower volume than the other processors on the same threshold, which is noticeable with and without autogain.DaveGamble wrote:Oh, sorry, should have mentioned. Worst case scenario: without autogain, switching from "all-in" to DMG 4:1 or lower is a serious boost in volume. With autogain on, it is boosted even more for a moment, because autogain takes a second to catch up to the model switch.
