just to let you know i installed your 2.9 beta on my win10 64 bit system and it crashed both FL Studio 12.5.1 and Studio One Pro 3.5.2. FL Studio crashed during plugin scan of the new 2.9 beta and S1 Pro crashed when i tried to instantiate your plugin on a track. i mentioned it on your Facebook page with no response but i did ask one of your patrons that had his work on win10 so apparently it must be my system although version 2.8 works on my system without a problem and nothing has been changed on my system. i DO run an antivirus protection which works fine with 2.8.
i am wondering if it is your new feature of the HTTPS connection to your server but the antivirus does not report. only that i get a program crash report from windows stating that the program itself has stopped working.
i have since removed the 2.9 beta and re-installed 2.8 and all is back as it should be. cheers

Yeah it keeps crashing no matter what, I'm waiting on the new build to see if that fixes things.braj wrote:Triple check and make sure Synthmaster is gone completely from your machine before installing the beta, I had similar crashes with the released versions and tracked it down to SM files in my Documents folder.DocShay wrote:Also I would like to add that I'm using Windows 10 x64 when I experience the crashes. It happens whether I clean install or not, like it will crash right after I install while Reaper is loading and detecting any new plugins. I can usually load it after deleting the config file in the documents folder but if I delete an instance of the plugin and reload it will crash and keep crashing until I delete the config file again.
Bulent, can you point out all the locations where Synthmaster may drop files? That might help in troubleshooting. I'd also consider this behavior a bug.

Yeah I get the same exact behavior too, had to go back to 2.8.MadDogE134 wrote:just to let you know i installed your 2.9 beta on my win10 64 bit system and it crashed both FL Studio 12.5.1 and Studio One Pro 3.5.2. although i did make sure the old version was removed.. i did not remove the documents folder presets but as i watched the install of the beta i am pretty sure i noticed it writing to the documents folder so i suspect it overwrote the presets and such. both times i installed the beta (i tried twice) it asks if i would like it to overwrite the config file and i allowed it to do so.
i could try to actually remove the documents folder and re-install but i think i will wait until there is a new version of the beta since i am not working as a beta tester. it is the company's and their beta team's responsibility to work out the kinks. i do beta work for other developers so i am sorry i am not about to try and track down the issue when i have other things i need to be doing. cheers
hope this gets sorted

Yeah, whether or not is is causing your headache, the issue with installing multiple versions and subsequent crashes needs fixing, that is a bad bug. It kept me from using Synthmaster for a long time.

i only had one version of Synthmaster installed at a time. i certainly hope having Synthmaster One installed was not the issue lol j/k
'cos 2.8 plays nicely. cheers

There is Hackintosh for this. Best of two worlds, proper OS, proper hardwarebraj wrote:I always feed bad for small developers that have to support Macs and buy new hardware just for that.

I used to be a QA manager, we would MAYBE test that, but we would normally test on all recent variants of every OS, on a variety of hardware, Mac testing was expensive for my clients. I know not everyone is so thorough, but anyway, sometimes a Hackintosh doesn't cut the mustard. A lot of small developers either don't test thoroughly or have their users do the compatibility testing in betas. But if you work like that, without test plans and test cases, you will release with bugs.Hanz Meyzer wrote:There is Hackintosh for this. oh. Well, sure for testing some specific mac only hardware features, like touchpad or so, you still need a real mac, true. But for the rest, a mac hardware is exactly the same as a pc hardware. CPUs and GPUs are the same. If you target a recent Apple API, it will also work on real Mac. Especially for vst audio development. If you look at those forums, you can get a proper hardware configuration plan, which already was tested 100%. Lot of suggestions there, for notebook and desktop. Then just follow the install tutorial and you are ready to go.
