Hi. I've adjusted the attack rate for all the symphony strings to be as quick as possible but it still sounds like there is a half a second for the not to catch up. It's not really latency, it's just that it doesn't sound like an instant hit for the notes when I want to do something quick.
It's a really good package if I want to use long sounds, but I need quick hits to do some things. How can I have an instant attack for strings other than the pizzicato and plucked strings?
Thanks.
Instant Attack for Symphony Strings?

There are a couple of things you can try. One is, to check also that the "macro" knobs don't have an "attack" parameter too. Try tweaking that one as well as the amp envelope attack because it could be offsetting it. That particular patch is meant for a slower attack though.
Another thing you can do in ST2 LE, L or XL is layer a fast attack such as an Arco or Marcato style patch OR even find another patch that has the attack you want by turning both the macro and the env attack knobs. Once you have that sound you can LAYER it over the Movie Strings or any other slower patch. Then, if you just want the ATTACK portion to be layered you can try turning the sustain level down on the amp envelope of that sound and the decay time to just include the portion of the attack you want to layer and this will "add" an attack to any sound you layer it with. You can save the whole thing back as a "combi" preset at the top center of the module.
The new Strings Capsules coming out actually have the attack elements separated into their own sample "partials" which is convenient... but, maybe I shouldn't be talking about those just yet.
