need to update the envelope gui to modern standards. no reason to emulate the primordial earliest method of adjusting the parameters of an FM synth.
let the numbers stay the same, but does anyone else think the envelopes could get a better GUI method?
cheers.

Logic 10.2 on High Sierra OSX is not seemingly able to find Dexed versions 0.9.0 through .9.3 in the components folder (library or home locations). Has anyone had any luck, or could give advice? Thanks!
edit: a restart and version .9.2 cured me!

On another topic, I sure do wish there was a way to restrict the polyphony of the VST to 1 (which is massively different than mono). I don't want the notes to have any portamento on them, especially when you start playing really fast notes live.
Not sure if the original had that, but it sure would help me out for the way I play. I REALLY want to get rid of FMDrive as my go to FM VST, which has this functionality (but 32bit, yaaaarg)
A heaping dose of outrageously goofy synth tracks, scores and chiptunes.

I found a few banks that don't seem to be in BlackWinny's pack yet, AViC KV-101 Shofuku Ten no Maki, KV-102 Shofuku Chi no Maki, KV-103 Bo Tomlyn for the DX7II. http://www.cosmozik.com/synthe/dx7II/AViC%20(DX7II)/
In case links are disabled for new users, just Google "AViC (DX7II)" with quotation marks and you should see a page for cosmozik. The voice banks need to be converted with DXconvert since they have extra tuning and such data and then it works fine in Dexed, they're also different from the AViC banks currently in the pack.
Also, the pack only has 2, 5, and 7 for GreyMatter E! and the full set can be found http://yates.ca/dx7/Grey%20Matter%20E!/ and http://www.synthzone.com/midi/yamaha/dx7II/E!/ and if those links are actually invisible to everyone else, Google "yates.ca Grey Matter E!" without quotes or "Index of /midi/yamaha/dx7II/E!" with quotes. These appear to have everything on Bobby's patchlist for E! but they need to be converted, but when I do it with DXConvert I get several INIT VOICE patches and some misconverted data, hope someone can do it right.
And finally DX7 Series Voice Data 128 Vol.1 which is a collection of presets from a book from Rittor.

Every time I load Dexed lately, the preset sounds garbled. This never seemed to happen before, odd. I'm using Reaper on windows7/64, and i run all plugins as a separate process.
anybody else getting garbled sound on loading Dexed?
Also, I noticed that Arturia beat Dexed to the punch with making proper envelopes!

Can you post an example? Maybe you overwrote the default patch.

ok, i will post an audio example the next time it happens. it is bug-like in that is persistent even if i change carts and presets.

Here's an audio sample of Dexed preset "Say Again"
https://clyp.it/3wj4w3go
I loaded Dexed while the project was playing. Maybe that has something to do with it, but I do that all the time and no other plugin struggles with that. Just a thought.
edit: is there a panic button on Dexed? I just got some wicked hung MIDI notes in Reaper. tried bypassing and re-engaging Dexed and the notes stayed blaring away. Probably the DAW's fault.

Yes/No, I have sick member in the family that I have to take care of, my 'free time' is very limited, and my Windows machine will have to be updated. I will work on it once this is done.sfxsound3 wrote:Are you still working on Dexed?asb2m10 wrote:What midi interface are you using ? This DSP noise is very strange, do you have the same issue with http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm ? What is your ASIO configuration; it might be related to the buffer size...overhishead wrote:Here's an audio sample of Dexed preset "Say Again"

I haven't tried Dexed with Savihost. Since it has just started recently happening with Reaper, it might be due to a bug in one of their updates.

VRC-1004 Michael Boddicker bank for the DX7II, doesn't seem to be in Black Winny's set. Includes original banks and conversions that Dexed can open.

if someone would like to create their own GUI for Dexed, is the code optimized enough to allow something like that?
