I just downloaded and installed ST 2 Free; what a great program. Easy to use, intuitive interface and superb sounds.
I am considering picking up XL. However, I was disappointed to find out in this forum that the program does not support per sample panning. I thought this would have been a given. For drum sounds, there needs to be a per sample panning option. I realize there are work-arounds, but ... This may keep me from taking the plunge until this option is included.
FYI: It has caused Sonar 3.11 to crash twice already today when attempting to load a sample in a channel that already contains a sample.

Studiphonik gets around this in a different way. All kits are "combi kits" so the kick, snare, hats etc are all their own patch that is layered multi-channel and can be assigned different fx and different outputs. Studio Drums Capsule is also done this way.DrApostropheX wrote:Maybe this will be a feature of StudioPhonik? It seems like the ability to place any instrument where you want it in the "room" would be one reason why folks would pick that up when it's released. (That and maybe audio inputs, so you can process other instruments with the same effects as the SPSquids wrote:Maybe this is something that will change in a future update. I will at least request it. I think it would be good for drums and ST2 is such a great sounding drum kit player.
