It's online activation though (or offline C/R)... http://forum.cakewalk.com/m/tm.aspx?m=3149383&p=2whyterabbyt wrote:The products you own already have a simple serial number, you should find them under your account. And the Command Centre drops the individual standalone installers into a user-definable folder, so you can just locate that and keep copies of those installers.LeVzi wrote:Well I hope they dump their command centre and leave the products we own with just a simple serial or such like, as if it stops working, thats gonna cause a shit storm.
Actually read that thread... kinda sad... I mean funny... I mean sad... I mean funny...
This goes on the list for 2018 sig refresh candidates.Well, in addition to what Dan said, Cakewalk is now owned by a multi-billion dollar company and has been doing well since the acquisition, so I wouldn't be too worried.
You need to limit that rez, bro.

Well, some parts of Cakewalk Sonar could be transformed into money, e.g. making a CROSS-PLATFORM plugin suite from sonitus fx plugins, into a new version supporting state-of-the-art features like vst2 sidechain and vst3. The code already is there, vst cross platform is not the hard to do.

Fortunately, I won't be using Z3TA+2 anymore, as my eyesight is aging faster than the plugin.
There's no need to re-activate if you save the relevant (Windows) registry keys. Just insert them after re-installation.

I'd guess that this isn't going to help you when you want to install on a new machine, right?ZeePok wrote:Yes it does! I use this technique all the time.egbert101 wrote:Doesn't work.ZeePok wrote: Run regedit, look for the relevant registry keys, mostly under 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\' or 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software'. In the left pane do a right-click on the keyname and do 'Export' to save the keys to a .reg file.
After a re-install right-click the .reg file and open with regedit. Voila! Bob's your uncle!

In Windows 8 64 bit the reg key you need is HKey_Local_Machine/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Cakewalk Music Software
and:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Cakewalk Music Software
and:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Cakewalk Music Software
