Hi,
I am searching for a plugin for Logic (AU) that I can put onto a mixer channel and during playback of my project, when pressing record inside the plugin, it records the track that is routed to the channel (of course including all FX/processing that are loaded before that plugin on the mixer chain and without the FX after it). Ideally it would let me drag the recorded waveform (or a selected part of it) directly into another third-party sampler plugin (I already have one that accepts drag&drop) loaded as software instrument on another track but I can also live with the limitation of having to save the wav to a folder and load it from there into the other sampler.
I hope someone can recommend a free or not too expensive and not too cpu hungry plugin for that specific task.
Need audio recording plugin to put on mixer channel

Truly, Edison is CPU-friendly and can record but it may not work as it's in alpha or beta for Apple. But development is continuing

Edison would be perfect but as you said it isn‘t avilable for mac. And I want a stable system on my Mac/Logic without alpha/beta plugins, bitbridges or non-AU plugins.
However I have found the MRecorder by Melda which is a freeware that does exactly what I want and has drag n drop functionality. Only downside is that it does not show the waveform and thus doesn‘t allow cutting and it has to save a file to a folder but I can still select start and endpoints in my sampler so it isn‘t a big problem and saving files on the other side has the advantage that I can use them in other projects.
And thanks for the reply!
