Mac desktop audio problem.

I recently purchased a Mac desktop, whenever I connect it to my external sound card and play a song in iTunes, there is an additional whiny sound that comes through on top of the music. I have also connected the computer to a midi dj controller which has its own built in soundcard and it makes this really intense buzzing noise.
Before I got the desktop, I was using a MacBook Pro. I tried the pro again and it works perfectly with the external sound card and the dj controller without any additional unwanted noise on both. So this tells me its something to do with the desktop, what could it be?

posible causes:
mobile and radio amplification created by the desktop. try to turn off wifi and phone near the computer.
faulty PSU or faulty motherboard. try to unplug devices from your USB port, but this one has difficult solution.
faulty power plug. try to move the desktop to another room and change the cable to the wall.

Tried switching off wifi and phone, wasn't that.
Tried unplugging devices from USB port, wasn't that.
Tried cable on a different socket, wasn't that.
Must be a faulty PSU or motherboard then?

try to give a soft kick (soft
try also to change the power plan of the CPU, deactivate the speedsteep of the CPU, do not know if you can do it in a mac os. sometimes the variation in voltage generate sounds in the speakers, but this is also very rare.
it also make no sense that the sound also comes out from an external soundcard. is really rare.
