if one were seriously tempted by some of the sounds of RMIV kits, but already owned Battery thanks to Komplete 2, would say $100 be better spent getting the synthetic drum CD for Battery/Kontakt or yet another drum synth/sampler?

HI
I have both (and prefer RM4) - but if you are not easily tempted I would stick with what you have, battery although not having a resonant filter has some real funky modulation possibilities, beyond that you are likely to be more productive with one rather than two apps that do very similar jobs.
I can't remember the name's but there are a few third party sample CD's avalible for battery that utilise it for some really funky one shot hits and blips - more sfx than drums, they might be worth investigating.
Flipper.

I'm very NI biased.
I say the synthetic kit.
I say the synthetic kit.

I've been in love with the Synthetic kit since I got it well over a year ago. I turn to it all the time, and probably will for awhile. Nothin' wrong with RMIV which I have as well, but man... I love them synthetic kits in that pack so much!

thanks for the responses
'real' sounding drums have never appealed to me all that much
really like microTonic,
like the 'processed' sound of FLStudio
so I suspect I'd like the synthetic battery kits as well. the 'real' kits in RMIV would be wasted on me, though I do like the interface
