Thanks for the reply. Last question. Do you need a registered email when using the P2 serials? Do the serials serve as unlock keys as well without the need of an associated email? The reason I ask is because I don't want to be bothered in the future for registration if and when my buddy needs to reinstall or deactivate the two modules out of the three Magix is offering in this sale.
You do need an email address tied to a new or existing account.

Hi Mathematics, it's obviously bound to the registered name and mailadress. When installing, you just insert the serial and "magically" your name later appears in the About-tab of the software (=the program connects to the activation server).

Thanks for that. I had a feeling it was as you described. I guess I will have him buy it and then just do a license transfer for SpectraLayers...if that's possible with this deal.

Its a bit primitive by default; one single submenu with all the plugins it found. To get it to display deeper menus, you need to modify a vstplugins.ini file. Cant remember offhand where I found it, but a search should work.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

One thing I like about Samp is how it has a dialog to organize plugins in the slots on a track.
The built in channelstrip stuff like eq can be placed anywhere i order(built in is grayed and can be moved).
Good thinking.

This apart from exactly what you asked...

Hmm.. I am becoming a little confused. Are the versions of Sound Forge and Spectralayers that come with the deal "bundles" (EG not able to be separated) ar are they independent licenses? May I just registerr Spectralayers and keep the other two licenses unregistered?

What are the Additional Content Packs?
Where are they installed?
How can I change the default install location?

Ive just installed one 'Additional Content Pack 1', no option to choose the location.
I can see my C drive has less space but no idea where its installed or how to access it !!!
It should be located here C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common
I've moved the samples to a different hard drive but I've never tried moving the synths plus content. I will look into finding out if that's possible.
Magix drops folders all over the place!!

I tracked it down to

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Samplitude Pro X3 Suite\_Sounds

FYI
I only installed the first 2 content packs but theyre just loops, instant delete and disk space reclaimed :D

It seems I only have 12GB of Independence library, not 70GB. How can I get the rest? Thanks !

Id love to know how this folder came to be ?!?!

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Bitwig Studio\UserData

Load Independence one time in Samp. It will then ask you if you want to download the content. That's the 70GB.

 Interesting indeed. User error? :o
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Wow...another obscure path to add to my synchronization paths. Why must these companies deviate from the paradigm of using the My Documents folder? Sonic Academy does the same thing. It's a Programming Felony if you ask me. :x

Some installers use paths stored in the registry, e.g. some VST plugins install theirselves by default in folders set by the VSTPath registry entry (which, if you installed some Cakewalk stuff, for example, is set to "/Cakewalk/Vstplugins"). The same probably happened here, even though i'm not awayre of a registry key which sets a path for DAW installations. But, maybe Bitwig does that. You could have just changed that path in the installer though, or not?

Anyone Else having trouble Registering Samplitude? I caved in and bought it, recieved my Serial, Yadda Yadda, And it works fine. But whenever I try to Register it it doesn't accept my Info. Is it because its currently Sunday night at Magix HQ? Like i havent been added to the Database yet or somthing. Again the software is working fine. Just the register part thats throwing me for a loop.
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.
