Thank You Layzer, Very close I will say. I can use this for a place holder and tweak after its recorded.

Just out of curiosity. :)
You ignored my audio on page 1, because it wasn't Synth1, or because it was so far from the target sound ?

I forgot to mention if you're looking for what in my opinion are the best banks for Synth 1 then you need to download Ann Nolwenn's banks:

http://ann.sounds.free.fr/

Her patch "Dark Choir" gets my vote for best Synth 1 patch ever. It almost sounds sampled in a certain range. She really shows what Synth 1 can do.....in the right hands.

Why?

If someone takes time to make a good bank that ppl are prepared to pay for, i dont see the problem. It doesnt matter if the synth is free or commercial. The devs get no money from soundbanks anyway (unless they are commisioned).

Post

I don't see the issue either, if the dev is ok with it. And why shouldn't he be ok with it? It's a deal between people offering soundware, and people who are willing to pay for said soundware. Noone gets ripped off really.

I'm with Teksonik on this one: selling patches for freeware is a dick move.

And some people say that selling patches at all for any synth is wrong and they should all be given away for free.

But why? Elaborate please.

Note also that it's pretty likely that some sound designers have been paid to create sounds for certain freeware synths from commercial companies. Simply because the freeware is also there to fuel sales for the commercial plugins.

If you have to ask why then you won't understand the answer. It's all about morals. You have to have them to understand.

I'll explain one more time. If the developer does not make any money from their freeware...a gift to the community...then no one who creates patches for that synth should make money either. It's plain and simply morally wrong and like I said can not be debated if one actually has morals.

If someone wants to pay a sound designer to create patches for a free synth then that's on him or her.

Ichiro has never once even asked for donations.

Try to understand the spirit of community, sharing, and giving. It was much more prevalent here in the early days of VSTi's. Sadly that spirit has left KVR.

So in that spirit I will leave this thread. :tu:

Talking about morals, let me quote from an advert for u-he's Zebralette:
Why are we advertising freeware? Our devilish plan is to get you hooked on Zebralette first, then sell you Zebra 2.
So, ya, freeware is more than often not a gift, but, either a teaser for payware, or the person who developed it didn't think that he should charge for it, or used it as a training excercise for future possibly commercial products.

Also, again, there is nothing morally objectionable about a buyer-seller relationship, in which both sides can decide whether the product is worth buying/selling or not.

And, by the way, there's really no reason to reply for Russell Grand. I'm sure he can speak for himself. :P

I see. I guess by your say so i have no morals then (but i also think anyone who buys presets is an idiot anyway...)

I dont recall ever seeing any dev of freeware saying this....

Wow...Just wow.

News flash people. There are TONS of paid software built on foundations of freeware or open source software. In fact, we wouldn't have half the stuff we pay for without it.

Un-freaking-believable the amount of sanctimonious horseshit that comes out of some people's mouths in this place.

It really does seem a certain someone just wants to find fault with anything Wagtunes says. Instead of just talking about points, it becomes personal, even questioning other user's morality. These are frivolous preset banks for a free synth, not food in a starving nation. Please, get a grip.

Not that this will be quick enough for your current project, but if you want to dig in, later, here are some tutorials by a guy I'm subscribed to:
