Logic Pro X ignores many AUs

Hey folks,

I have suddenly ran into an issue with Logic Pro X.

I have a 2016 MacBook Pro touchbar 15" running macOS High Sierra (up to date).

Logic Pro X is running fine without any issues - apart from several audio unit plugins which are being ignored by LPX.

Some plugins install perfectly, but others are not discovered at all.

I have:
- uninstalled and reinstalled LPX
- repaired permissions (disk + folders)
- removed and reinstalled plugins

So the entire Logic Pro X on my machine was installed *after* upgrading to High Sierra, and not upgraded.

Examples of plugins I struggle with:
- Xfer Chtulhu
- Dmitry's Tantra (my favorite plugin)
- Air Hybrid3

They are installed and permissions seem ok, but Logic refuses to add them (they are not even listed in the plugin manager).

Some that work fine:
- EZKeys
- Voxengo Elephant etc, I have 5 and they all work
- Dmitry's Thorn
- NI Solid Bus Comp

I have tried to search for relevant content online but have come up short.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

That's the reason of your problems. If possible - downgrade to Sierra or El Capitan.

But what exactly is the problem? :?:

I'm not going to High Sierra here, but previously if some plugins didn't validate in Logic, the fix was to downgrade auvaltool to a previous version.

Maybe try that and see if your AUs validate. If they worked fine in Sierra, try that version of auvaltool.

First thing to try is a restart. Many plugins will be validated by Logic after a restart, for remaining you have to wait until developers update them for HS.

Every OS X upgrade brings a minor change on Audio Units and auval app (the application that validates audio units on Logic Pro X/Mainstage). A common trick was copying an old auval from previous OS X version, but I don't know if it still works.

Ok, thanks guys. I have of course rebooted a number of times already, but due to the magic «just one more time» theorem I now see Hybrid3 and Chtulhu MFX (but strangely not the FX one).

The plot thickens. :borg:

This au validation issue, and the number of times it cropped up when os updates come out, is the main reason I kicked mac out of my life. There's most likely a fix for this one, but it'll happen again. I looove Logic, MacOS not so much

You know, if you wait a few months after a major OS update comes out, all the various issues get resolved. Nothing forces you to do a major OS update immediately.

High Sierra was released on September 25, so that is already a few months ago.

Not a single problem here on High Sierra and I have several hundred of plugins working in Logic.
Which version of Logic are you currently using?

10.3.2

Note that I also don't see the "ignored" plugins in Garageband, but I guess they use the exact same plugin validation.

I've not had any trouble with any plugins in Logic... also 10.3.2 and High Sierra
