all this is is running through some presets (no rhyme or reason to why I picked em) doing some rough performances.

Thanks - I'm gonna take the next step and see one in person at Ye Music Shoppe. :)

But I have missed the joy of hooking up synths...

You might want to pick up some editor software for it and you'll suddenly find it not so 'stripped and basic' anymore.

Cheers!

Nods...I ment it was "stripped down and basic" in the way that it has no way to edit from the front panel...unlike say the Matrix6 :)

Surely someone makes a cheaper all-analog synth? Maybe even with more versatile routing possibilities?

Otherwise I'm gonna have to go blow the price of a modest used car on one of these things because getting an analog synth is now a drive more powerful than sex or hunger. Well, almost.

Have you tried decent monitors

Before you blow all that money on hardware, get another loan to build an extension to keep them all in

I still own an Oberheim OB-8.
It is really a beast and you can find one for $600 sometimes on Ebay.
It is a great polyphonic synth with a great Unison action.

No one seemed to mention it here :?

Damn Michael, that's just premium wankage !

Not normalized but my ears are now cerumen-free and bleeding ! :-o

I have downloaded many demos from evolver and his big brother and I'am in love !!!

I'am even testing the editor without I would feel really, really uncomfortable.

This analog / wavetables + smart " wiring " and modulations seems a winning ticket for the price !

And the sound !!!

Need more money for plans ahead ...

So unfortunately they didn't have the Evolver at my local music store - they said I could order it through them, but then I'd have to buy it which kind of defeats the purpose of having an actual physical music store where you can try things out - I might as well cut out the middle man and order it myself.

But I think I'll be getting something else instead.

I played the Minimoog again, louder this time - oh my! teehee, blush, tingle - I'm in love! There are little stars and butterflies wobbling around my head and I keep walking into things.

Best of all my wife says it's okay if I buy it. I exercised restraint and decided to wait a week or two.

Now the music store is closed and I have to wait at least until Thursday night. f**k my f**king goddamn restraint!

This one is Poly Evolver only (including drums):
Massive Defeat
Some external reverb and a few Cubse EQs.
Bringing out more the harsh side of the Evolver instead of the analog warmth that it is capable of

fleetmoue: Check out the Andromeda. Cheaper than voyager and has 16 voices. About $1800 on ebay.
